EDCAR
The El Dorado County Association Realtors Honor Our Troops 10th annual All American Breakfast fundraiser at the Placerville Veteran’s Hall on Saturday, Jan. 26, was a big success.
Volunteers served 334 meals and diners had the chance to win more than 30 donated raffle prizes. EDCAR thanks its generous local sponsors. Youth volunteers came from Hands4Hope, El Dorado High School and local Boy Scouts also helped.
All net proceeds are used to send care packages to the military service members serving in the war zones who are from El Dorado County or have family members in El Dorado County three times a year.
In 2012 EDCAR’s Honor Our Troops sent out more than 100 large care packages, which included a Yellow Ribbon Rib Eye Certificate for a free meal from Poor Reds in El Dorado, cards and letters from the public & local schools, toiletries, snacks, paper backed books, beef jerky, socks, T-shirts, local newspapers, sunscreen, bug spray, handy wipes, hand held games, ready to eat tuna and more. Many items were sent in multiple quantities to share with the squad.
