Oakmont Senior Living, a Santa Rosa-based developer of resort senior communities, recently broke ground on two luxury retirement communities in Folsom and Carmichael that will offer assisted living and memory care services. Construction on Oakmont of Folsom (oakmontoffolsom.com) and Oakmont of Carmichael (oakmontofcarmichael.com) began fall 2013, and are expected to be completed this summer. The two-story communities will help meet the need for more regional senior housing and care options for seniors in Sacramento County, where seniors currently account for 11.9 percent of the overall population of 1.45 million.

Offering a host of resort-style comforts and a continuum of customizable care services, both Oakmont communities will be premier retirement retreats that promote quality of life and continued wellness.

Oakmont of Folsom, located at 1574 Creekside Drive just a half mile from Mercy Hospital of Folsom, is 60,000 square feet and will feature 47 assisted living and 19 memory care apartments. Oakmont of Carmichael, located at 4717 Engle Road, is approximately 73,000 square feet and will feature 50 assisted living and 21 memory care apartments. Floor plans come in studio, one- and two-bedroom options; each apartment will feature stainless steel appliances, 10-foot ceilings and spacious bathrooms.

Each community will be beautifully landscaped and classically decorated with high-end finishes. The pinnacle of luxury, Oakmont of Folsom and Carmichael will provide a number of unique amenities that promote independence and socialization including gourmet dining; daily on and off-site recreational and social activities; libraries; movie theaters; fully equipped fitness centers with instructional exercise classes; activity rooms with scheduled social events, games, arts and crafts; salon and day spas; resident flower and vegetable gardens, walking paths; and pet parks.

As full-service assisted living communities, Oakmont of Folsom and Carmichael will offer a continuum of customized 24-hour services that gives residents the daily quality care they need as they age. Care services can include medication management, housekeeping, health monitoring and assessments, grooming assistance, dietary guidance, escort services to offsite appointments and activities, appointment coordination and temporary in-home care. Other care programs include a Diabetes Wellness Program that provides customized meals, exercise activities, glucometer readings and daily evaluations; and a Concierge Medicine Program that allows outside physicians to visit participating residents onsite in a fully-equipped wellness center.

Oakmont of Folsom and Carmichael will also specialize in memory care and cater to individuals with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, including early memory loss. In addition to the assisted living services, the communities will offer special therapy programs that strengthen and engage dementia patients. The programs are designed to prolong a sense of independence, improve communication and mood, encourage physical activity, and drive social interaction among residents while providing the nurturing and safe atmosphere dementia patients need to maintain quality of life, health and happiness.

Oakmont of Folsom and Carmichael are two of four communities Oakmont Senior Living will construct this year. With the addition of Folsom and Carmichael properties, the company will have a total of nine retirement communities in Northern California. Founded in 1997, Oakmont Senior Living has a portfolio of 13 signature Oakmont communities throughout California, but has developed more than 30 retirement communities in the western U.S.

Oakmont of Folsom and Carmichael are now accepting reservations. For more information or to set up an appointment contact Oakmont of Folsom at (916) 379-7289 and Oakmont of Carmichael at (916) 919-8966.
