Love and the Libra Moon

The Libra moon points out that the obvious things you do for love are only the tip of the iceberg. As it is with icebergs, about 80 percent of the mass lies unseen below the water. In love, this percentage may include ideological adjustments, practical preparations, ego death and personal sacrifice. But relationships are usually worth the effort.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You will receive something different from what you gave, but the two things are of equal value. This may not be readily apparent, but time will reveal the balance.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Spontaneous conversations erupt between strangers. There’s an overriding sense that we’re all in this together, so you may as well get to know that person standing next to you.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your intellectual energy continues to be strong. Interesting comments, headlines and ideas will spur your curiosity. Only the best and brightest will be able to keep up with you.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You like to remain as independent as possible, but you’ll make exceptions to that rule now. Letting others take care of you will place a lovely softness in your heart.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The rubber-band aspect of a certain relationship will be activated. You’ll pull apart from someone and then snap back together with an equal and opposite force.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Detours are often more rewarding paths than the original road, but because they are lesser known routes, they cause apprehension. Today it’s safe to follow those detour signs.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). With the moon in your sign, there’s a surge of excitement around you. Whether or not you want the attention, it will be yours. You can either deflect it or use it to your advantage.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Things are humming along, so keep your life in motion. Relax and let the wheels turn. If you throw on the brakes at any point, it will be hard to get back to your current momentum.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Your creative expressions have wings. Don’t be afraid to give small doses of your work away for free. People will love your contribution enough to pay for a larger dose.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You will be even more sensitive than usual to the subtleties of human interaction. Loved ones will tell you exactly what they need and want. All you have to do is pay attention.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’ll be caught between warring factions. Good news: You don’t have to take sides. Unless you feel the need to protect one party, it would be better not to get involved.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). It may feel as though your professional life is playing teeter-totter with your personal life. But one doesn’t have to be down for the other to be up. The answer is to get off this ride and play another game.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Dec. 7). You work to steel your self-discipline. This effort is well worth your while, because once you take command over your inner voice, the outside world will echo it. You’ll climb to the next level at work in January. In February, you’ll be put on the spot, and you’ll win a prize. March brings new relationships. Pisces and Gemini people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 3, 10, 23, 19 and 30.

WEEKEND LOVE FORECAST: ARIES: Bold moves may feel fake to you, but not to the others who watch you make them. TAURUS: Admitting your mistakes is a sign of strength, but not if you do it too often. GEMINI: The limits you set for yourself keep you healthy, wealthy and attractive. CANCER: If you say the wrong thing, don’t worry. Every day is a chance to reinvent yourself in the eyes of a loved one. LEO: Regarding your relationship, you may have the distinct impression that the other person is getting the sweeter end of the deal. VIRGO: Your efforts will pay off. All is orchestrated to play like a marvelous song. LIBRA: High expectations can ruin a date. Keep things low-key, and you’ll be surprised at how well it all works out. SCORPIO: You may come off as easy-going, but when you want someone, no one can keep you away. SAGITTARIUS: When you put your mind to it, you’ll take action, make a change happen and enjoy the result you deserve. CAPRICORN: Friends have bad ideas about your love life. Follow your heart instead. AQUARIUS: You’ll love the flirty attention coming your way. PISCES: Success in your professional life gives you the confidence to create the same dynamic in your personal life.

COUPLE OF THE WEEKEND: When Libra and Sagittarius dance, it is a fusion of a quick step and a tango. One mode is snappy and exciting; the other is heated, exotic and passionate. With the sun in Sagittarius and the moon in Libra, the couple will luxuriate in both styles of dance this weekend and stay right in step with each other. They should be careful not to let outsiders influence how they feel about each other.
