Temperate St. Patrick’s Day
Get out your shamrocks and green. The feast of St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of all things Irish, including the belief that the Irish possess a certain kind of luck. Good luck or bad? Depends on whom you ask. The Libra moon favors temperance and balance in all things. Offset work with fun, camaraderie with independence, alcohol with food.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). The meeting seems to go as intended, and yet you won’t know for sure until all agree to take things to the next level. Find out the meaningful information that will move things along.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Be extra careful not to make assumptions about the people you meet. When you decide that you already know where someone is coming from, you cut short your chance for making a true connection.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You’ll express yourself with class. You’ll voice your praise in public, your criticism in private. And if you think you’re going to have a disagreement, do so beyond the ears of outside witnesses.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Your day will go much better if you take some time to yourself before diving into the bustle. You’ll quietly set your intentions, and what follows will assume a structure based on that assertion.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Nothing is bliss all of the time. That is precisely why it’s so important to recognize, celebrate and revel in the bliss while it’s happening. You’ll get the chance to do this today.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). There are things going on around you that you do not agree with, and yet it serves you well to be aware and accepting of all that is. There is nothing to be gained from denial.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Cheerleading works for others on your team, but right now you don’t need the distraction of outside forces to spur you on. The challenge itself is motivation enough to do your best.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Just when you think you know what you want your life to look like, you discover you weren’t being specific enough. Luckily, today affords a seemingly endless amount of do-overs.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Humorless types will take you seriously, so be careful what you ask for. All of the attention on your requests will have you wondering whether you should ask for something more or different.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You never intended to manage a project on your own, and yet today you may seem to be the only one who understands what it will take to get to the next phase. Tomorrow, new helpers will arrive to assist.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). The question is: How do you measure whether or not you’re getting closer to your goal? You get to set the rules in this regard, and they don’t have to be the same ones that others use to determine progress.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). If you start experimenting too soon into a process, you won’t know what really works. For now, stay the course. Your sacrifices are not in vain. This is what it takes to ingratiate the forces of transformation into your life.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 17). You’re a deep person, and this year highlights multiple facets of your personality. You’ll think about philosophy, religion and politics and discuss ideas with a select few. You’re wise to match your discourse to the people and environments that will most support or gain from it. Windfall months: April, June and October. Libra and Sagittarius people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 13, 29, 35, 28 and 25.
MOLEOMANCY SPECIAL: In reply to a question last week about the meaning of birthmarks, we looked into different types of marks and their placement. Working our way down the body, we’ve touched on how to read moles from the head to the mouth. Shall we continue?
–Chin: Moles on or around the chin signify matters of pride and a need for self-protection. Possessors of these moles will learn lessons to hone the distinction between healthy pride, which comes from self-esteem, dignity and integrity, and unhealthy pride, which comes from overblown ego, insecurity and arrogance.
–Neck, Front: This mole signifies karma around the area of self-expression. The journey is one of overcoming suppression and growing to a place of being able to live out loud.
–Neck, Side: There is karma around the area of control. The journey is one of fighting or doing whatever it takes to become independent and free of oppressive forces.
–Neck, Back: There is karma around the area self-possession. This points to a struggle with legacy, either favorable or unfavorable, but the journey has to do with either rising to the occasion of a family of high achievers or nobility, or breaking out of an undesirable family pattern.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Hollywood is known for the kind of sneaky glamour tricks that fool the camera and the audience at large in regards to the passing of time as reflected in the face of movie stars. And yet there are those who seem legitimately ageless. Rob Lowe is among a select group of celebrities who inexplicably never seem to age. Maybe it’s his youthful Mercury and Jupiter in Aries!
