Full Moon of Improvement

The full moon in Virgo, the sign of improvement and nurturing, lends extra power to our efforts to grow. Sometimes drastic measures are necessary to develop ourselves and our relationships and projects, but not usually. Take a more scientific approach today. Change one variable, and see how everything else is affected by the change.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You’re unique; therefore, the care and feeding of you are slightly different from what is required for any other being. The particulars of this will keep you busy for a good part of the day.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You know that satisfaction is created in the mind, not in the environment, and yet you have a much easier time making that headspace a reality after you’ve straightened up at home.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You walk around thinking that inside you’re like many others, but you are more unique (not to mention intelligent) than you give yourself credit for. Put some of those brilliant ideas in writing.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Go into sample mode. It’s not the right time to make a big commitment, but you can try lots of options in a quest for the one that brings you the most pleasure.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your dreams are big, but they will be achieved just as anything else is achieved: minute by minute. You’ll come up with a better plan for spending your minutes.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You’ll make up your own mind, and anyone who tries to persuade you in a particular direction will only be motivating you to do the opposite. You’re not being stubborn, just independent (and smart).

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You can’t force yourself to love what or whom you don’t love, although there will be those who encourage you to fake enthusiasm for political, social or personal gain.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). In light of recent events, your point of view has changed. What you used to think of as an inconvenience you now think of as an advantage — and one you’ll thoroughly work today.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You stand out from the others because you refuse to let your desire to win override your sense of who you are and what you stand for. If you can’t get there with integrity, you don’t want to get there at all.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Before you attempt communication, take a moment to size up the emotional tone of the room and the mood of your prospects. When you come from a place of awareness and empathy, you’ll succeed.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). People feel good around you and have a great time doing things with you. That’s a bigger deal than you think. You’re so used to being generally easy-going that you don’t even realize what a gift it is to the world.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Whatever is at the top of your list will be accomplished. If you don’t have a list and someone close to you does have one, you’ll be roped into accomplishing what’s at the top of that person’s list.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (March 16). This year is like finding your new favorite song and then putting it on “repeat” because it makes you feel so good. Instead of a song, you’ll find a niche and work it for all it’s worth. The people around you feed your happiness. Financially, you’ll implement changes in April and reap the rewards in August. Capricorn and Aquarius people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 18, 2, 40 and 33.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: The full Virgo moon at the start of the week prognosticates a level of productivity usually reserved for superheroes. The best part is that most people won’t set out to check off every item on their to-do list; rather, they will be possessed by an interesting project or vision that they move to make happen, unaware that what they are doing would commonly be classified as “work.”

The Virgo full moon offers other gifts, as well. This is the moon of improvement. Is there something you’d like to see changed, brightened, enriched or beautified in your life? In that spirit, here are some rules of improvement to consider.

Be willing to start where things are. Keep your wishes and expectations out of it in the early stages. You cannot improve that which you do not accept, in the same way that you cannot simultaneously drive a car and criticize it from the curb.

Taking away the value judgments makes improvement a simpler matter. The “before” is not bad, and the “after” is not good. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. When you understand this, it is easier to drop all of the emotional baggage and take the logical steps toward making your improvement goals a reality.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Disney star Tyrel Jackson Williams plays Leo Dooley on the series “Lab Rats.” In 2004, the Pisces actor was on “Sesame Street,” so although he’s young, he’s already had a decade of experience in entertainment. Pisces is the sign of old souls, and it is not uncommon for artists of this sign to know what they want to do at a very young age and to possess the drive and focus to make that a reality.
