Silence and the Scorpio Moon

Mercury and Mars are lining up nicely to form an air-sign trine that becomes exact tomorrow. In the meantime, the stinging Scorpio moon could find something to take issue with. Don’t. Let it ride. When the action naturally flows in the direction you want it to go, don’t say anything to interrupt that process. Be silent and let nothing jinx your good luck.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Part of your success plan is to do the hardest work at your peak times of mental and physical strength. Today’s observations will help you get in better touch with your rhythms and preferences.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Many don’t understand how power can be derived from service instead of control, but you get it. The more you help and provide for others the greater your sense of personal power becomes.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You are enthralled with someone for reasons that are mysterious even to you. This is a good time to break it down in your mind. What quality does the object of your enchantment have that you would like to posses?

CANCER (June 22-July 22). As for today’s dilemma, a fellow Cancer summed it up best. “I don’t know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.” — Bill Cosby

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). What’s the difference between a splurge and a reward? A collection and a hoard? Your feelings and attitude are the difference. You know you’re going to do something, so you may as well find a way to feel good about it.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You have a certain amount of energy to spread around today, and you’ll resent your friends later if you give them too much of it now. Think about what is really important to you, and do that first.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You can organize with the best of them today and might even get paid for it. It is easy for you to see how the pieces can be arranged for maximum productivity.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You understand that people need some degree of consistency in their lives and relationships in order to feel safe. People can’t be at their best if they don’t feel safe.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). There are those to whom significance matters a great deal. They need to be recognized as important. You, sensing this need, have a choice about whether to serve it or not. You’ll deliberate carefully on this matter.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Loyalty is important to you. A true friend rushes to celebrate a friend when good things are happening, but not so fast as he rushes to assist a friend who needs help.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Your continued good fortune depends on your ability to get up to speed in several areas of your life at once. The timeliness of your actions will make an enormous difference.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Sea divers have been known to spend so much time in the depths of the ocean that they can’t tell which way is up. Your recent project is pretty deep, as well. A friend at the surface can save the day.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 23). A quest drives the first part of your new year, and you won’t want to move on until you’ve held the prize. Next month you’ll change something about your work situation in order to better fit the needs of those around you. Mixing friends and family together produces exciting events and opportunities in the summer months. Scorpio and Leo people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 4, 1, 22 and 18.

CANCER SECRET SUPERPOWER BREAKDOWN:

The Obvious: Cancer is an intuitive and caring sign that runs the full gamut between toughness and tenderness. Like a crab, this sign carries its own armor, which in the case of some crabs also happens to be their home. Cancers are both protectors and nurturers.

The Uncanny: The moonchild can choose an emotion and embody it without going through the stages that others would take as a bridge between different states of mind. They can be spitting mad in one moment and chillingly calm and controlled in the next.

The Weird: This sign’s hair tends to grow extremely quickly. Maybe it has something to do with the gravitational pull of the moon, or maybe the ever-changing internal atmosphere of Cancer has a way of pushing on their follicles. No one knows for sure, but they are the barber’s best clients.

The Extremely Useful: Cancer has stellar special relations abilities. This sign can arrange a room, move furniture, pack a car and dance like a dream.

The Quietly Helpful: Most people’s dreams are too random to be fun to hear about, but if a Cancer tells you she had a dream about you, listen up. There may be psychic information to be gathered.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Aquarian “Law and Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay exemplifies her sign’s philanthropic nature in her work with several charities, including the Joyful Heart Foundation, which she co-founded. Born when the sun, Mars and Saturn were all in Aquarius, Hargitay is happiest when helping and has learned some of her most formative lessons while pursuing worthy causes.
