Horoscope, Thursday, June 21, 2012

On the first full day of the Cancer solar journey of 2012, you may start to wonder whether your house is in order. The clean surfaces of your surroundings are both a reality that brightens your thinking and a symbol that all is well. In the coming weeks, expect to delve into the deeper levels of home and what it means to you.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Your creative juices are flowing, which helps you in every area of life. Even seemingly non-creative areas of life will be improved by your imaginative approach.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You have an easy way of relating with people, and you’ll fall into a pleasant social groove. A Leo will help you connect with your heart and trust its guidance.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You’ve been in a powerful cycle, and now you’re ready to rest a bit. You don’t have to have the answers, solve the problems or do much of anything at all. You don’t even have to “be you.” All you have to do is relax.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You can deliberately create joy in any moment, and that’s precisely what you set out to do at the beginning of the day. Anyone who has other plans will find that your joy-mission can’t be derailed.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). There is a rule for everything, from eating bread to launching spacecrafts. When in doubt, learn the rule. You can always break it if you want to. Better to break a learned rule than one you don’t know about.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your friends know you well enough to sense when you’re hiding something, trying to spare their feelings or simply not “into” an activity. It feels great to have people around with whom you can be completely honest.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Highlighted today is a certain longing in your heart that makes you unique. It’s a nameless craving for nothing in particular and everything at once. It’s impossible to describe, and few possess it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Imagination and practicality are qualities that seem sometimes to be at war with each other. But there is a way to make the imaginative and the practical work together. And when it happens, it’s brilliant.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You know where you belong in the big picture, but there are too many options in the little picture for you to be completely sure of how best to spend this day. Trust that you are divinely guided.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Resentment and regret are energy drains that are easily plugged today with a healthy dose of neglect. Refuse to give your attention to the bitter feelings, and they magically heal.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Level with someone about what you’d really like out of the relationship. Why not have both your needs (SET ITAL) and (END ITAL) your wants met? You deserve to be happy!

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You need a break from all the emotional work you’ve been doing lately. Make plans to be near people who are easy to be with. Laughter and breezy conversations are restorative.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (June 21). You may not feel like you’re on a quest at the start of the year, but you’ll gather information, inspiration and team members in the next seven weeks. By mid-August, your mission is underway. A financial exchange keeps your project rolling and growing through September. December brings family fun. Aries and Aquarius people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 7, 30, 2, 14 and 29.

12 ASTRO-REMEDIES FOR SOCIAL AWKWARDNESS: Inside the energy of each sign is a lesson that can be applied to remedy social awkwardness. Aquarius energy is the most social-minded of the entire zodiac. This is the sign of forwarding human interest and acting for the greater good. The concept of social awkwardness barely exists in the philanthropic energy of Aquarius because the rules go out the window in the special compassion that Aquarius brings. Whatever we do, it’s only human.

An interesting progression happens in regard to social philosophy on this end of the zodiac. The Sagittarius way is to accept our differences and tolerate others. Capricorn adds to the conversation, suggesting that we realize that what makes us different is worth celebrating. Adhering to our particular traditions keeps the diversity alive. Then Aquarius comes along and sweetens the deal. If the world is a better place when we tolerate others and celebrate our own traditions, then a world where we celebrate not only our own traditions but everyone’s traditions could be heaven on Earth.

Social awkwardness has no expression from this expansive place in the mind and heart. Maybe that’s why Aquarius natives are usually so adept at making friends.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Happy 30th birthday to Prince William. The heir to the British throne has a most auspicious birthday, as it usually coincides squarely with the summer solstice, which this year happened on June 20, but often falls on the 21st. The “Sun King” has been a ubiquitous symbol of national strength throughout history, literature, art and mythology, and with both his sun and moon in patriotic Cancer, the prince will continue to act in the best interest of the kingdom.
