Last Day of Mercury in Aries
If life came with a universal rulebook, would you learn and obey, or would you test and explore? Mercury moving fast through Aries suggests that we’ll all have to learn by trial and error, rule-breakers and rule-followers alike. Take risks and don’t be boring. It’s better to cause offense than to take a forgettable course.
ARIES (March 21-April 19). Many people are good at what they do but poor at describing what they do. Sooner or later, marketing is important in every line of work. You’ll be helpful to those marketing-challenged types.
TAURUS (April 20-May 20). The work you’ve chosen is very important, but it’s not as important as friends and family. As you keep everything in balance, you’ll set a standard for those around you, who will follow suit.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You will come to a professional impasse. You will have the right of way in this matter, but consider yielding anyway. Being right will be far less rewarding than making things work for all involved.
CANCER (June 22-July 22). Honest words are not always invited to the social party, and when they show up, they are often turned down at the door by security. If they do manage to slip in, they will be respected and feared.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). It is natural to assume that others share your talents and are as capable as you are in the same areas. This is not true at all. Go in without assumption, and learn where people’s real strengths lie.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your focus will be on those much younger than you. It will help you to keep in mind that everything is new and therefore magnified in the eyes of a child. Also, children get only one childhood.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). “Pride goes before the fall” is how the saying goes. But is it really so wrong to find satisfaction in one’s own achievements? They key is in knowing how far to take this. With your social instincts, you won’t go wrong.
SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Because you believe that everyone is great in some way, you would never value your own efforts while devaluing the efforts of another. You’ll have to search for the value that isn’t readily apparent.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). They’ll say you’re psychic, but the real reason for today’s accurate prediction is that you know the secret governing lies, vices and flaws: Some things are only as obvious as the effort made to hide them.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Ignorance is only acceptable when it is naive: No one is born knowing. The openhearted and curious-minded have an excellent sense of what they need to learn.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’ll truly feel the equality of all people, and you have an affinity for everyone. That’s why your choice will be a real dilemma. Someone has to stay, and someone has to go. Don’t vacillate. Choose fast.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Before you go out and purchase anything, assess what you already have. This will save you money and trouble, and it will keep you in touch with and accountable to your past.
TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (April 22). You thought you had already experienced the full range of human emotion, but this year brings deeper love and greater excitement. The next three weeks feature a fortuitous business arrangement. June connects you with kindred spirits. There’s a crossroads in July, and it’s best to do what’s good for loved ones. Aquarius and Capricorn people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 20, 45, 2, 14 and 50.
COSMIC ANXIETY ALERT (PART TWO): For those who are sensitive to tense vibrations, the current cosmic weather may trigger extra nervousness. Many people who suffer from anxiety do not recognize the early indicators that they are about to launch into an anxious episode. Getting tuned in to these warnings and counteracting them can prevent the negative emotions from escalating. Individual symptoms vary, but common precursors to stressful events include feelings of extreme self-consciousness, tunnel vision, light-headedness, dry mouth, muscle tension and shortness of breath. If you experience these symptoms, don’t try to tough it out. Recognize that you’re experiencing undue stress and be kind to yourself, actively drawing on your arsenal of calming tools, such as this one:
WATER THERAPY: This is especially effective for water signs (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces), though most others find the right aquatic conditions to be instantly calming, as well. Some obvious ways to enjoy water include drinking it, taking a hot bath or shower, going for a swim, or watching rain, waves, ripples or any body of water. Also, listening to recorded sounds of water, such as waves crashing or a rainforest shower, provides a soothing point of focus for anxious individuals.
CELEBRITY PROFILES: Is it any surprise that legendary Taurus bad-boy Jack Nicholson was voted class clown by his high school class? The three-time Academy Award winner is rumored to be involved in a currently untitled project with his longtime friend Warren Beatty. Nicholson was born when the sun, Mercury and Uranus were in sensual, iron-willed Taurus indicating a powerful if unyielding presence.
