Restless Moon

The Sagittarius moon has a restless spirit and loves to push the action along at a brisk pace, getting to the meat of things and cutting to the next source of excitement. It’s no way to live every day, but you may find that you pack so much adventure into a short time period that the rushed feeling is a relatively small price to pay.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). The world was here before you and has plenty to teach you. You’ll be drawn to matters of history, and you’ll find a way to frame the present that will look good in retrospect.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). There’s always a cause and an effect. The ones who don’t create the cause are not entitled to the effect. Your role today is to remind people not to be so spoiled.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The day brings a situation in which it will be better to take action than not. You won’t feel that you’re informed enough. You won’t feel that you’re ready. But the time to act is within 24 hours.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You try to apply the right remedy to every less than optimal situation you encounter: truth to slander, freshness to toxicity, vitality to lethargy. You’ll be successful in this game.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). The excitement is palpable. The opportunity that’s coming to you is what you’ve worked so hard to achieve. All of what you want is wrapped up in this; it’s like a burrito of your hopes and wishes.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Some people are never so creative as when they get caught doing what they ought not to be doing. You use creativity proactively, and that’s part of why you are not even tempted to stray from your path.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Stay alert. What’s beautiful in the world won’t linger, waiting to be adored. It will fly by and only be appreciated by those who are observant and quick enough to catch it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your appetite is not insatiable; you’ll be quite satisfied, indeed. But that part doesn’t last. This is the way it is with people like you who are always growing and striving to understand more.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You will feel a driving need to take stock of what you own and have achieved. You may also do a personal inventory of your good and bad qualities. Be kind to yourself during this process.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Peek into your dreams of the past week because they have something to teach you. Sure, some of them were weird and hard to understand, but you’ll have a pretty good idea as to the meaning.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). Make a list before you get into action. This practice is the key to your success. The list allows you to expend less mental energy. You’ll rely on the order you established and in the end have brainpower to spare.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). The old saying goes that “you can’t take it with you,” but people still like to think they own their possessions for as long as they can grasp them. They’ll be touchy about that today, so be careful about crossing territorial lines.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 6). Your emotional life will brim with fresh feelings, and you’ll be inspired to create something beautiful in the world that wasn’t there before. Rest up at the end of the year. You’ll need strength to fully take advantage of the January opportunity to work hard and earn much. May and September bring more of the same. Pisces and Virgo people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 30, 40, 22 and 48.

MERCURY RETROGRADE TIP 7: Say what needs to be said and no more.

While Mercury travels backward, those who already over-talk kick it up a notch, indulging this harmful tendency much to the annoyance of decent communicators everywhere. Though the listeners may feel affronted by the over-talker’s incessant babble, the over-talker is the one who is most harmed by the practice, because over-talking robs them of the true connection that comes from reciprocal sharing. Lacking the rhythm that comes from shutting up long enough to listen to the other person, the over-talker trades meaningful and mutual bonds for the temporary high that comes from being listened to.

For over-talkers, awareness is the first step to gaining self-control. Posing questions to oneself can help bring an accurate perspective. Before you open your mouth, ask yourself: Is what I’m about to say relevant to the listener’s life? Is there any reason the listener should care about the information? Does what I’m about to say have potential value to the other person — for instance, because it could make the listener’s life easier or help the listener feel appreciated, cared for or loved? Such lines of questioning will lead to high-quality conversations.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Emma Stone personifies the Scorpio sizzle, as she snags the artistic hearts of A-list directors like Woody Allen and Cameron Crowe and lines her filmography with impressive credits. Stone was born when the sun, Mercury and Pluto were all in Scorpio. Her moon and Venus in Libra suggests a relationship-oriented personality laced with charm, grace and style.
