Crime Log: Jan. 8-9

Jan. 8

12:06 a.m. A 36-year-old female victim reported her boyfriend allegedly raped and battered her in Meyers. After an investigation was completed, the boyfriend, Jommy Smith, was arrested and booked into the jail.

3:10 a.m. A male adult subject allegedly assaulted his brother, 52, first choking him with his hands, then striking him with an axe handle on Deerwood Drive in Grizzly Flat. The subject, Michael Russell, 54, was subsequently arrested.

9:27 a.m. A victim of Magpie Court in El Dorado allegedly received several harassing phone calls from a suspect.

10:40 a.m.
 A victim reported burglary by unknown suspect(s) on Industrial Drive in Diamond Springs.

10:41 a.m.
 A subject reported harassing phone calls on Newtown Road in Placerville.

11:05 a.m. A 65-year-old male victim reported petty theft from a vehicle by unknown suspect(s) on Highway 49 in Coloma. Documentation report only.

12:00 p.m. Unknown suspect(s) forced entry into the 55-year-old victim’s vehicle on Lime Kiln Road in Diamond Springs. The vehicle was ransacked but nothing was taken.

12:24 p.m. The 53-year-old male pilot of an airplane lost control while trying to slow the plane to a stop after landing on the runway near Aerodrome Way in Georgetown. The plane then left the tarmac surface and flipped over into the mud along the side of the runway. The pilot, who was the sole occupant of the plane, self extricated and was treated on scene for minor injuries.

3:35 p.m.
 Unknown suspect(s) took copper tubing and wiring from a construction site on Pleasant Valley Road in Diamond Springs.

4:55 p.m. Deputies responded to a report of a subject stealing video games from Wal-mart on Missouri Flat Road in Diamond Springs. The suspect, Alexander Cochran, 19, was located and arrested without incident.

Jan. 9

12:17 a.m. A 25-year-old male was cited for allegedly driving on a suspended license on 3rd Street in South Lake Tahoe.

7:15 a.m. A 58-year-old male victim reported petty theft by unknown suspect(s) on Tuscany Way in El Dorado Hills.

7:20 a.m. A 32-year-old female victim reported mail theft by unknown suspect(s) on Hillcrest Drive in Cameron Park.

7:50 a.m. A 44-year-old female victim reported petty theft by unknown suspect(s) on Stratford Circle in El Dorado Hills.

8:15 a.m. A victim reported burglary by unknown suspect(s) on Carson Road in Camino.

8:45 a.m. Unknown suspect(s) spray-painted a 55-year-old male victim’s trash cans on Silverlode Drive in Placerville.
