Alibi Sports Bar, 4100 Cameron Park Drive, Suite 119, in Cameron Park, is hosting nationally recognized blues artist Pinkie Rideau and Blind Resistance Saturday for a big "Halloween Bash."
Dubbed by many that know her as "The Wailin' Lil' Cajun," Rideau started hosting local blues jams on Sundays, forming the Morning Wood Blues Band at the age of 40.
In 2006, she was invited to open for Los Lonely Boys at the Sleep Train Pavilion.
Rideau won "The Blues Artist on The Rise Contest" through the Blues Festival Guide and SonicBids in 2009.
This year has brought a fourth win in the "Women of Blues Talent Showcase" and a No. 1 local spot in the ReverbNation's Blues Charts.
Performances with Miles Schon, Charlie Brectel and Big Moe and the Full Moon Band passed with great success.
This 2010 Modesto Area Music Association Award nominee has so much more in store. Rideau is on her way up and it's no lie when she sings: "It's Always Somethin."
She is singing with Blind Resistance. This talented group is made up of four musicians hand picked by Rideau. They range in age from early 30s to mid 60s and always offer up a "blues plate special" array of music that listeners won't forget — putting on stage a collective amount of years of stage performances anywhere from 60 to 110 years.
It will be a toe-tapping, hip-shaking, earth-quaking blues from all sub genres to include: gospel, rock, delta, Chicago, East Coast, West Coast, swing, country, R&B, and maybe even a little back porch blues.
Rideau's writing style ranges from songs about prison to songs about love and Blind Resistance serves up the heat that she needs to cook and sizzle. They put so much energy and soul into the music that listeners can't help but have a great time.
This is Rideau's third appearance at the Alibi Sports Bar.
Show time is 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. with a $5 cover charge.
