As an active Real Estate Broker in the community I was quite shocked to learn that the City of Placerville saw fit to charge the El Dorado County Association of Realtors a $100 permit fee to place the annual “Can Tree” at the Belltower in downtown Placerville this year. It is through the hard work of fellow realtors, countless donations of products and time that the Realtor body can provide food, toys and gifts to those in need in the area. At this time of giving, you would think that the City of Placerville could join in and support the cause.
I would like to hear of the reasoning or lack thereof from the city as to why they are the Scrooges of the season.

I am so sorry to have read this…sometimes people that are comfortable…and not out doing community work…forget or ignore what is important. In my opinion miss–there is no justification for this fee. And I applaud you and the people you worked with– who I know, worked hard towards a wonderful, heart felt goal. Hold onto that–you have heart.
The real estate commission for my house was $45,000. The house sold in less than one week. That’s pretty good pay without any heavy lifting. The realtors can easily cough up $100. Even though it is a kind charity, they are still promoting themselves.
