30 percent water use reduction

By From page A5 | June 20, 2014

Has it occurred to anyone who cares, that many of us have already cut water use to a bare minimum because of the high cost we already suffer? There is no longer a lawn, toilets are flushed only during the day, leaks are non-existent, etc. And yet, do any of us doubt that we will all see a surcharge of —- probably not 15 percent because EID is “really concerned about us taxpayers” (and so will undoubtedly add only) — 10-12 percent and we will all be so grateful that it is not more, that we just accept that which we have no control over anyway.

And through it all, our illustrious county leaders and EID still plan to OK developments bringing thousands more homes to areas increasing traffic, pollution and water needs in all areas — homes, schools, sewer, irrigation. Where is the logic? Where is common sense? Where are our elected leaders that are supposed to be listening to their constituents?

But never fear when EID is near because they have masterful, magical, measurement methods that even in drought will find water for big business. It has happened in the past. And we pay more and more and more and conserve more and more and more. If there had been no Serrano, maybe the problems would be a lot less today.
