EDITOR: My wife and I always look forward to attending the El Dorado County Fair. We feel privileged to have live here for almost 30 years. We had just finished listening to a the first song of great a cappella group as they completed their sound checks and were anticipating some pretty good close harmony.
All of a sudden, another nearby band started blasting music in a foreign language. The bands were a few hundred feet apart but there was no way the four singers could compete with the amplified sound of the foreign singers.
I’m curious, how does the fair staff schedule these events? Do they not have time slots to avoid these issues? The talented a cappella group was left standing on the stage with no way to perform. What a shame. How about it, fair management? What’s up with this?
