Are you aware the El Dorado High School principal, Matthew Barnes, has gone against the wishes of his community by stripping down the high school’s Historical Wall of Fame?
Since the early 1980s, the wall of the high school gym has displayed, honorably, the El Dorado football players who have made All League — which included my late cousin Tyler Flynn, may he rest in peace. As a former graduate of El Dorado High School (1999), I am appalled at Principal Barnes’ decision to tear down the Historical Wall of Fame. And I believe the greater community of El Dorado County would agree this is a shameful act. Principal Barnes has disgraced those athletes, and their families, who have earned the honor of achieving All League.
I urge you and your staff to heed the call and inform those who are unaware that the historical town of Placerville has lost a piece of its history which we must recover.
We the community want the Historical Wall of Fame put back up!
Thank you for your consideration.
