EDITOR: Just got my fire tax, oh, I mean fee because a tax without the ability vote on it would be illegal and we all know politicians never would do anything illegal.
I thought I had left all these illegal fees and taxs behind when I moved out of California, but, oh no, now they are passing retroactive taxes. On top of that I had local fire service so Cal Fire did nothing for me.
This is the best one yet, a tax for providing nothing. Then again that is pretty much what goverment, at all levels, does these days. Or goverment has reverted to the same tyranny that caused the first revolution.
Think about it, when you get something in the mail from or have to deal with goverment are you apprehensive or even fearful? The essence of goverment is suppossed to be to protect and help the citizens. Love your country, fear your goverment.

Actually, if you read his letter, he is upset because he has to pay for nothing.

Alan--do you have any idea where the money collected goes to? I bet you dont. The fire prevention fee does not go to firefighting efforts. But to admin costs and public relations etc. Get a clue. Also Robert was stating the fee is retroactive and is being forced to pay even though he has moved. Excellent reading comprehension.

This looks a lot like Extortion! We can thank that idiot of a Beem for imposing an illegal TAX and calling it a FEE to get it without a 2/3 vote. Yes, our government has not a care in the world for the tax payers or the law. They have their own agenda ...always have and alway will until the revolution.
