EDITOR:
The truth has finally surfaced for all to see and, hopefully, understand. Our current president, Barack Hussein Obama, is no dummy. Unlike what some writers have asserted, Mr. Obama is not in over his head wandering around trying one thing after another hoping something will succeed. No, he knows exactly what he is doing. He told us in 2008 while campaigning that he will drastically change the United States of America. He has spent three and one half years changing America to a controlled society where “big brother” in Washington, D.C. makes all of the decisions for us uninformed out here in fly-over land.
His 2012 campaign slogan — “Forward” — tells us what we need to know will happen if he is re-elected President in November. “Forward” is the word used by socialists, communists and fascists going back to the 1850s to identify themselves and to tell others about their plans. Marx, Trotsky and Engels frequently wrote articles in a German periodical titled, ”Forward.” A periodical created by Lenn in Russia was also titled “Forward” and it was used by the leaders of the revolution to influence strategy during the communist takeover and the formation of the Soviet Union. Chairman Mao of Communist China used the phrase, “A great leap forward,” as he implemented his strategy to solidify his control.
What Mr. Obama already done to implement a federal government controlled state? I’ll just discuss two or three of his most egregious actions:
1) Obamacare: This issue has been in the news so much I’ll just highlight couple of items. It of course is his attempt to take control of 16 percent of the American economy. It’s not about improving healthcare for Americans, but about controlling Americans. Why would this legislation include funding for 13,000 IRS agents if control of the people wasn’t a major plan? IRS agents are not known to be experts in providing health care.
2) Controlling or Reducing Sources of Energy: He has curtailed exploration for oil and gas on all federal lands, both on shore and off shore. The only successful new oil/gas finds have been on private or state owned lands. Even here, his EPA and other federal agencies are using all sorts of tactics to hinder private enterprise as they bring forth new finds. In the hugely successful Bakken oil and gas fields in North Dakota the Justice Department brought suit against several oil companies claiming that a handful of birds (25-30) had died in “reserve pits.” A district court judge threw this suit out with little ado. He asserted that birds die in many ways and noted that wind turbines kill an estimated 33,000 birds a year. Obama himself said that he will drive coal driven electric power plants out of business, even though this will mean our electric bills will skyrocket. EPA recently issued regulations to accomplish this. All these actions, including stopping the pipeline from Canada to Texas, are preventing private enterprise from hiring the unemployed to produce a much needed product. Remember, we still import well over one-half of our oil. Why shouldn’t produce and use our own oil? Why shouldn’t we hire our unemployed? Maybe, it’s because control will be lost.
3) Controlling Money and Finance: Obama and his regime have used many methods to assert control over our pocket-books. One way is to spend the U.S. into bankruptcy. Our debt is so large and the government’s spending are so out of line —$1.2 trillion annual deficits — that private enterprise is scared and not willing to take normal business risks. Unemployment is high, the workforce decreases and welfare rolls grow all the while giving “big brother” more control over people and the economy. His “stimulus program” did not stimulate other than now bankrupt solar energy firms. There were no shovel ready jobs only shoveling our tax payer monies (plus lots of borrowed funds) to states, unions and other spendaholics. These actions are intended to make us want more of “big brother’s” money — give them more control — as we give up our liberty and freedom.
I could go on and on, but I only ask the reader to take a clear look at history. Not necessarily the history taught in today’s schools or reported by our mainstream media. Look at the many past experiences of state control and see for yourself what these countries did to (not for) their peoples. The Soviet Union. Communist China. Communist Cuba. Communist North Korea. Any or all of the Soviet Union dominated churches in East Europe. Look at countries which have not yet turned communist, but have been strong socialist states, and we see many of the countries in the Eurozone. Ask yourself, do we want to be like Greece, Italy, Spain, and on and on. I believe most of us will say no; we ilk what America is or was with our personal freedoms and opportunities to be the best we can.

I was once in a military unit whose motto was "FORWARD." We were not socialists, communists, or fascists. Obamacare: Except for some constraints (previous conditions OK, must spend 80% for patient care, etc.), Obamacare is a gift to the insurance companies. Medicare for all would be taking over -- and it cannot happen too quickly to get rid of the parasites who put profit over our lives. Obama has curtailed oil drilling. I thought he has expanded it? Obama spending us into bankruptcy? President Obama cannot spend unless the money is allocated by Congress. Perhaps you can redirect your deficit venom to them? Mr. Bernhoft, I'm guessing you are a Republican who gets his facts from Rush and Fox News. But, I could be wrong. Where do you get your facts?
James E.July 18, 2012 - 11:50 pm
Gosh, not one Tea/Republican who is going to claim that I was in a Socialist, Communist, Fascist United States Army unit? Not even one?

"It is almost certainly the case that the ultimate achievement of higher education for the great majority of people, is to open them up and prepare them for bigger and bigger lies and to make them receptive to being part of a group that simultaneously sees itself as above propaganda, and also as a member of a semi-elitist class." ~ Ellul, Jacques. LT COL JE- Projecting a little I see. I could give you comfort in calling you those names, but instead I will just lay out some facts and let others decide who or what you are. Was this military unit you describe as "forward" the same one that ran the code named program "yellow fruit?" It would be a prime comparison to a form of government that you share with all the readers here that you so desire this country to be. Just like Obama is trying to achieve, You and your unit were given ultimate power, unanimous decision making capabilities with no 2nd or 3rd party oversight. Under the guise of maintaining cover, your "forward" unit spent lavishly on trips and electronics with no proof of legitimate purpose. When you were told to investigate the matter, you acted in a Eric Holder like manner and signed off on the legitimacy of it, even though you knew that it wasn't. This is the exact kind of "forward" we are getting from the Obama administration, the big difference is it has much larger ramifications in our lives than it did when you were a corrupt fascist leader of your "forward" unit. If the readers don't believe me, they can read the unclassified papers directly from the Army at the following link. Pg 24 http://www.dtic.mil/cgi-bin/GetTRDoc?AD=ADA209583

Brandon, strike the Lieutenant Colonel, add Colonel. Yellow Fruit had no motto. FORWARD is the motto of the 17th Cavalry Regiment. But, good try on your part. Educate us, and let us know the motto of any military unit to which you were assigned. God, you guys are so lame.
Ken SteersJuly 19, 2012 - 11:14 am
While I was assigned to the 24th NORAD I remember our Motto was Deter-Detect-Defend. While with NATO AWACS I think it was Vigilance is Strength. But my time in the military didn't turn me into a self professed socialist longing for a European style of government. Our governments in DC and Sacramento are bankrupt.

Misdirection is a common form of deception in which the attention of an audience is side-tracked and re-focused on one thing in order to distract its attention from another....For instance if we are baited into taking a stroll down the Col's memory lane, then no one will be focusing on this very well written and informative letter by Mr. Bernhoft ....It's an old trick all Lib's use, don't fall for it.....
James E.July 19, 2012 - 12:29 pm
R.J., so Brandon is a liberal? Plus, you know you love it when I go down memory land to mention that the 17th Cavalry Regiment motto was FORWARD and not socialist, communist, or fascist. The Air Force has some great mottos -- think SAC was "A steel fist in a velvet glove." Actually, it was "Peace is our Profession." But, I like the velvet glove guess better. Once, in Texas, I was at the side of the runway and a B-52 landed up close -- the B-52 was one mean looking aircraft. Oh, and Brandon, LTC Duncan's case, after a long judicial journey, was found to be without evidence of wrongdoing. He was reinstated and give a humungous check for back pay and allowances. Sorry that the "Rest of the Story" didn't turn out the way you wanted.
James E.July 19, 2012 - 1:02 pm
ADDED: I love the Air Force and they loved me -- well, at least the two jet jockeys I pulled out of the jungle in my little OH-6. One of them was so happy that when we got back to DocTho he kissed me -- on the cheek, no lip kissing allowed even in combat. Probably because it was almost dark and he didn't want to spend the night in the jungle surrounded by a North Vietnamese Regiment. Cannot blame him. And, how about a little slack for me today as it's my birthday - 75. When I was zipping around the jungle in my OH-6 I wasn't sure I would make it to 31. And, as Commander of B Troop, 7th Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, all I can say is FORWARD. P.S. Bet those two USAF pilots were Republicans, but when I hovered down so they could climb up on my skids they did not ask me if I was a liberal. Guess it takes war on a personal basis for us to come together.
Jack MartinJuly 19, 2012 - 3:00 pm
RJ, I think James missed the part where you revealed his tactic....:) Didn't get the memo. See James, your attempted diversion of the word "Forward" from Mr Bernhoft's well written piece didn't work. And you didn't take on the issue head to head with anything resembling a fact to assert that his points were not true. (because you know they are true). Same deal with Obama and the lap dog mainstream media crying Romney's tax returns. They don't care about Romney's taxes - it is a diversion to keep people's eye off the ball of the economy tanking again.
James E.July 19, 2012 - 4:11 pm
There was no diversion. Mr. Bernhoft claims that FORWARD is a word used by Socialist, Communists, and Fascists to identify themselves. This is BS, as FORWARD is a word used by the 17th Cavalry Regiment, and we were not Socialists, Communists, or Fascists. Ergo, Mr. Bernhoft's theory fails at inception. Forward as a code word to identify liberals is just another Tea/Republican BS attempt to spread their sick theories of Obama hate.
Ken SteersJuly 19, 2012 - 5:37 pm
Obama/Biden's slogan for 2112? FORWARD This is actually as embarrassing as creepy dude Daley's writings that they pulled.

LT COL, All other things aside, let's just keep it simple. Please explain to us why re-electing Obama would be a good thing for our country?

Brandon, get my military rank correct, and then we can debate why electing Mitt would be a bad thing for our country.

puzzledJuly 20, 2012 - 5:19 pm
All the yellow fruit talk suggests a puzzle. James, you like to say the President spends only what the House appropriates. Why do you say such things?
NancyJuly 20, 2012 - 5:41 pm
Mr. Bernhoft, I agree with everything in your well written piece except for one thing. After four more years of Obama the USA is more likely to look like Cuba or Venezuela than Greece, Italy or Spain.
James E.July 20, 2012 - 5:43 pm
Puzzled, I'm puzzled by your question. Monies spent in Special Operations are allocated in Black Budgets authorized by the Congress. Did you think I had a printing press? And, the president doesn't have a printing press either -- all federal spending must come from the Congress -- they are the money people. Just had a computer scare -- wouldn't turn on. I rubbed my forehead thinking of all the stuff on my computer that I would have to try to replicate. Then, I looked on the back and notice the vent was dirty -- grabbed my can of Enviro-Duster and give it a shot -- computer turned on. Great relief. Although, I have another MAC so would have survived.

So as I hear the mantra from the emporeror Obama and his minions ring out across the land the rallying cry of yes we are corrupt and incompetant but so is Mitt!!!!! Half a lentgh half a lentgh forward! Into the valley of death road the 600! Someone that is not a paid writer for the democrat party like Dink, explain to me why the hell you have full faith and trust in Pelosi, Reid and Obama? Our way of lifeJuly 20, 2012 - 8:32 pm
Mr. Bernhoft, I believe you to be a member of one of the many right wing Christian groups that make up the Republican Party. I have noticed lately that when an author wants to incite those on the right against a growing Muslin population in American with out saying Muslim, "Hussein" seems to do the trick. As for anything and everything labeled "forward" is a socialist code word used among those who wish to overthrow America, that suggestion just doesn’t hold water. As an example, The Bush Institute "Forward Thinking Programs" and as mentioned above the Jewish publication Forward honored George W Bush as well as President Obama. The rest of the letter smacks of election year spin to additionally incite the right to action. Mr. Bernhoft, you say you could go on and ask the reader to take a clear look at history, not necessarily the history taught in today’s schools or reported by our mainstream media, are you suggesting the answers are in biblical history. I believe your out of touch with the new generations of Americans, I spend considerable time among our young people and our American military men and women and I promise you they are as smart, honorable and willing to defend our American way of life as any that have come before them.
James E.July 20, 2012 - 8:46 pm
Puzzled, 1.5 Billion to Egypt -- Foreign Aid -- again, allocated by Congress. Foreign Aid is given to other countries because it is in our national interest to do so. We don't do it because we're nice guys.
J. OthersideJuly 20, 2012 - 9:16 pm
I'm not an Obama fan either, but do know a bit about energy. Domestic oil and gas production has actually increased substantially the last 4 years, not decreased, which kind of weakens the "control" argument as applies to energy. I do agree the "green" investments have been unfruitful to say the least. Not terribly surprising, unfortunately nothing on the near horizon compares to the thick black goo and noxious gases for energy density. Too bad the current administration choose to put politics over thermodynamic fact. Damn those laws of physics!
puzzledJuly 21, 2012 - 6:11 am
James, I get your drift. Obama "bypasses" Congress means Congress allocated the funds.
Ken SteersJuly 21, 2012 - 9:34 am
Let's be clear here. You don't have to use Barack Hussein Obama's middle name to make him sound Muslim. His father and mother gave him a first middle and last name all 3 are Muslim. The Hussein name draws ire from Barack's supporters because it's the same name as Saddam Hussein, a sworn enemy of the US. If his middle name was Hitler Obama defenders would still feign displeasure of the use of the name. FORWARD is Barack Hussein Obama's campaign slogan. 4 years ago it was Hope and Change. The slogan FORWARD is not a mistake happenstance. The same slogan is used by Marxists in Europe and by Lenin the turn of the last century. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2012/apr/30/new-obama-slogan-has-long-ties-marxism-socialism/ There isn't even an argument anymore regarding Barack Hussein Obama being a socialist. The socialist have seized the democrat party and are as fearless regarding exposing their politics as cockroaches who no longer fear the light. The only relative argument anymore is for those who feel Hussein Obama is actually a fascist.
James E.July 21, 2012 - 10:17 am
Puzzled, the United States has given approximately $1.5 Billion to Egypt each year for decades because of our interest in Egypt being a stabilizing force in the Middle East. This year the Congress said the Secretary of State should not go ahead on the payment unless she certifies Egypt meets human rights issues -- the Secretary of State decided it was in the interests of national security that the payment be made. Most of the $1.5 Billion goes to the Egyptian military which continues to be the stabilizing force in Egypt -- note recent news that the new Egyptian president made a power play and was shut down by the military. And where did the Secretary get the money? From the Foreign Aid pot authorized by the Congress. Hope you are less puzzled. I suppose the Congress could impeach the President over this, but don't hold your breath because it was a lawful action on the part of the Secretary of State. Somewhat aside, but isn't she doing a great job as Secretary of State. Well done, Hillary.
TerryJuly 21, 2012 - 12:24 pm
J Otherside, yes oil and gas production has increased under Obama and he has undeservedly claimed credit for it. Mr. Bernhoft is correct in that most of the new development is on private or state land. Obama has not opened up federal lands for drilling operations. He has put a few off shore leases up for sale but with all the banning and new red tape for offshore exploration, it will be awhile if ever before those leases become fruitful if ever. His EPA is working to make fracking more difficult. So the bottom line is Obama's administration is not friendly to traditional hydrocarbon fuel production. They are even fining refiners for not adding cellulosic ethanol to fuel. There is no commercial production of cellulosic ethanol, so how are the refiners supposed to add it. That is another $6.8B tax that we consumers must pay for not benefits in return.
MARTIN SCHUMANNJuly 22, 2012 - 9:51 am
Nothing needs to be proven; the proof is what the president has not done for the benefit of development and manufacturing. He has the EPA closing down Federal lands to human occupation virtually stopping exploration for any type mineral, coal, oil, timber and mining all in the name of conservation. I have lived among gods creations all my life and have found that human intervention has very little impact on their survivability; certainly it may cut into the number of certain creations but 99% of the time they learn to except there new environment the same a humans. Most of this green agenda is for the betterment of the special interest groups, because if they didn’t have something to sue for they would go broke.

Mr. Schumann, I’m on vacation from Placerville and as I look over Nehalem Bay, OR. which in the 1940s was a pristine bay of 10,000 + acres with several different spices of fish, including sturgeon. I cant help but notice that now 85 percent of the waterways are filled with silt, much of it accumulating in the last five years as a result of a major clear cutting efforts in the surrounding mountains, maybe as a right wing environmentalist you can tell me when the silt is going to go away and the fish will return.
puzzledJuly 22, 2012 - 1:18 pm
James, you're on a roll! Is it also true that the $26 Trillion in bailouts from the Federal Reserve also has congressional approval?
MARTIN SCHUMANNJuly 22, 2012 - 1:56 pm
Rich! you don’t think that thousands of acres that have burnt to the ground had anything to do with the silt? I agree clear cutting don’t make it in my book either but selective cutting does; you don’t stop industry because a wrong choice was made you fix the problem.
James E.July 22, 2012 - 6:14 pm
Puzzled, I'm not big on Federal Reserve rules -- but appears they do their own thing. They don't print money, they just enter amounts on their computers and away it goes. They must have a little old lady in the basement keeping a tally of some sort (just for their own records). I've often wondered why they don't send a $17 Trillion dollar eMail to the U.S. Treasury so we can just start over with zero deficit.
