Thank you to all five members of our El Dorado County Board of Supervisors (Ron Mikulaco, Ray Nutting, Brian Veerkamp, Ron Briggs and Norma Santiago) for their continuing support of our older county residents.
Recently the board voted to supplement funding cuts to Meals on Wheels brought on by the federal sequestration. The board also supported the development of a new Senior Day Care Center in the El Dorado Hills Senior Center.
It’s not easy for our county supervisors to prioritize spending with growing needs and less federal and state funding. Our El Dorado County Commission on Aging applauds the board, since we consider these two programs as high-priority needs for seniors and the larger community.
BRIAN P. REEVES
Chairman, Commission on Aging
