Brrriiing … splat!

By From page A7 | April 26, 2013

EDITOR:

To the person who rang our doorbell and ran last Saturday after midnight: If you are between the ages of 10 and 12, this is age-appropriate behavior and I applaud your ability to sneak out at night without your parents knowing. I might have done the same at that age. But if you’re over 12, I just want to let you know that our home was burgled about six weeks ago, and we’re very eager to shoot the next person who attempts to rob us, so think twice before repeating this kind of prank.

Out in the country, and even in our rural suburb, anyone with an IQ over 80 knows that surprising folks at night can be very dangerous, and I’m not eager to clean anyone’s brains off my driveway. Besides, Sheriff’s deputies had to come out, and your parents should be billed for their efforts.

Lastly, if this was an attempt to attempt another robbery, get smart. The McMansions in El Dorado Hills contain far more jewelry, and some of it might even be real gold. Duh!
