Cameron Park residents: Protect your home

EDITOR:

In this year’s election for Cameron Park Community Services District Board of Directors there is a clear choice. Candidate Vicky Neibauer has consistently spoken out against the current Board’s deficit spending budgets. Vicky, who is a senior budget analyst for Sacramento County, has admonished the Board to drill down into the budget, line by line and produce a budget that is reconciled with the District’s income. On the other hand, incumbent Director Sean Tucker has voted in favor of deficit spending and has gone on to defend his vote by declaring that this is what is best for Cameron Park at this time.

It should be noted that budget deficits have been passed over the past years and have been covered by robbing the fire department’s equipment replacement fund. Furthermore the fire department has given up two firefighter positions in order to cut their costs. Is it any wonder why, that although incumbent Tucker was the Chairman of the District’s Fire Committee, the local firefighters assocition has chosen to endorse Vivky Neibauer and not Sean Tucker?

Cameron Park geographically sits in a very precarious position in terms of fire protection for our homes. The possibility of an Oakland hills type fire in Cameron Park is very real. We need to fully staff and fully equip our fire department to best protect our homes and businesses. Vicki Neibauer is fully prepared to make the difficult decisions that may mean cutting other CSD programs so that we can have the fire and emergency services we need. Sean Tucker has proved he is not willing to make such tough decisions. The issue is clear, protect your home, lets put Vicky Neibauer on the Cameron Park CSD Board.

  1. Brenda Mersch says:

This woman is as nutty as a squirrels mouth in October. I mean not just sort of nutty! This lady is the malcontents candidate to micro manage the staff and do the bidding of a handful of looneys! The district has over 18 thousand people we need to elect leaders that are willing to represent all, not just a handful of malcontents! Let me remind you who is behind her campaign…Shiva Frentzen, Bill Carey, Gerald Lillipop, Dave Gelber and Barbara Rogers…need I say more? She has no plan of her own except the one the malcontents (led by Shiva Frentzen)fill her with. The community has come to far to be set back with someone who is full of negativity and anger. Anyone but Vicky should be the chant.

  2. Bill Randall says:

Wow Brenda, calling a resident and dedicated pulbic employee a squirrel? Just because some others support her? Feel free to add my name to the list of supporters. Yes, as a businessman, I support the idea of having a balanced budget. Radical, huh? Vicky would be a great addition to the team to replace Alan. Will you call me a “malcontent” as you did Shiva, the elected Board President? What will you call our fire dept. union, which supports Vicky?
If you want to know what her plans are, try asking her.
We need to have far less name calling and more discussion of solutions to our budget.

  3. Mike says:

Bill what business do you own?

A fire dept will always support the candidate that will give them what they want. But what they want isn’t always right!

I wouldn’t go as far as David but I will say Vicki Neibauer is a little odd and will not be getting this Cameron Parkers vote!! Oh yeah by the way Cameron Park Fire quite calling my cell phone trying to get my votes..

  4. Bill Randall says:

    Mike, thanks for the comment.
On the business side, I currently supervise 30 people, running a division of a multi national firm. There is no such thing here as a “plan” to loose money. I started and ran Capital Investigations for 10 years, with 3 million a year in revenue. I started the business in Cameron Park. I have also been on the executive committee of two local Chamber of Commerce Boards for the last ten years.
I am not a labor union coolaid drinker by any means. I can understand though that the firefighters (not just the union) cold be upset if we keep taking money out of the budget meant to pay to replace aging fire engines, to loose money in parks and rec, doing things like running a BBQ or fireworks event that was better handled by a vendor.

I am just looking to get an idea from the person who repeatedly fakes the pen name of “brenda mersch”, as to who he is and is not willing to slander. I will bet you a beer though that Vicky will do a great job on the CSD Board. Having a disagreement with someone over policy is healthy. Rude name calling should have no home her in Cameron Park.

  5. Concerned says:

Bill still smacking from not being electable to the CSD? Its no secret what a pal of Shivas you are…the same Shiva that cast the lone vote against banning profanity in the CSD meetings. I say tell me who your friends and I say it speaks to your character. Vicky and your pal shiva are true loons!

  6. Bill Randall says:

Yes, along with the rest of the County, I support Shiva, and consider her to be a friend.
I can understand why you would be upset with her, supporting free speech and all. Nothing like a few folks trying to run our town from the safety of their back room politics and closed door sessions. If you are not hiding your actions, why hide your identity?
