Christmas parade

EDITOR:

If you missed the Hangtown Christmas Parade this year, you missed one of the best parades this town has had in a while. I am not just saying this because I help put the parade together; I’m saying it because it’s true.

There was perfect weather and great crowds of people along the parade route. The parade had great entries, some new and lots of returning ones. With just under 100 entries from starting time of 1:00 p.m. on upper Broadway to our last entry of Santa Claus at the Belltower, it was a surprising two hours.

Job well done everyone, from the marshals and their helpers to the Mountain Democrat staff, the Placerville Police Department, Parks & Recreation Department and all the other volunteers.

I’ll see everyone next year. Happy Holidays.

Well I must say a big Thank you to you Jill. It's these little things that keep our comunity well. It showed with all of the smiles and "Merry Christmas!" and Happy Holidays!" spoken by a very diverse crowd. Again, Thank you for your efforts and we'll look foward to next year.

Yes, Jill, it was really fun and thank you, we had a great time. Oh and to that Cookie person: You are a freak and very sick. Jill is talking about our local Christmas parade, where dems. and rep. and teas stood side by side having a good time together and you post more divisive, inappropriate "I hate leftist" crap. Maybe if you actually got off the end you appear to do your “thinking” with and went to the parade or had some real interaction with real people, you wouldn't be such an old, bitter a$$hole. How sad, miserable and empty your life must be. I hope you have Life Alert.

LOL!! When did I say I wasn't there enjoying the festivities? I didn't make the video I posted, people who are endlessly indoctrinating our children did. I love Christmas.

Are you opposed to my consideration of Green peace and giving voice to their Christmas message? I merely posted their Christmas offering, I don't follow how their message, not mine, makes for any sort of condemnation towards me. I realize the need for you to have a villain, but if someone who is just sharing the efforts of others is your version of the villain then you are more confused than I even realized. I guess I should only post things that meet with your approval in the future. That should make life much simpler for you. Just like getting a brand new shiny government agency for Christmas. The less you have to be challenged the better.

cookie is a broken partisan record. So tired of reading cookie's hate, no matter what the topic is, cookie goes off on an anti-liberal rant - even if it is about our lovely community parade. I wish Mt Dem would go to real sign ins like Sac Bee. That would get rid of the trolls like cookie who won't sign his/her real name. Coward, much? Hateful, much? How about just commenting that it was a really nice parade this year, cookie?

What rant is that? I posted a Christmas message produce by greenpeace. Nothing more. It is Christmas time and they have done their part to celebrate the season and I am merely sharing it. Talk about kill the messenger.

Eeyore, the old grey Donkey, stood by the side of the stream, and looked at himself in the water. "Pathetic," he said. "That's what it is. Pathetic." He turned and walked slowly down the stream for twenty yards, splashed across it, and walked slowly back on the other side. Then he looked at himself in the water again. "As I thought," he said. "No better from this side. But nobody minds. Nobody cares. Pathetic, that's what it is."

Dee, have you ever seen anything like it? Tis the season and all. A nice letter praising the Christmas parade and I post an on topic very seasonal Christmas message from greenpeace and all heck breaks loose. From greenpeace of all places, an organization full of warm, deeply compassionate people totally devoted to polar bears, all the little fish, whales and the cute little penguins. You would think I was clubbing baby seals. It seriously falls under the category of don't expose us to anything we don't want to know.

James, I support the improved health everyone has enjoyed under ocommycare. Laughter releases endorphins and endorphins are excellent for one's health. I can't think of anything in recent memory that has caused more public laughter than obozocare. Every time he gets in front of the teleprompter he is promoting good health. It is a good thing too because you will want every advantage in preventative medicine you can now that ocommycare has left so many uninsured and doubled so many deductibles.

Cookie, assuming you want your comments taken seriously (unless your comments are a joke), surely you know that ocommycare and obozocare and teleprompter (used by every president since Eisenhower) all detract from any message that you are trying to convey. But, maybe you don't have a message now or ever, but rather just want to suck up to radicals who just melt at the sound of occomycare and obozocare and teleprompter.

Cookie, congratulations -- you made a comment without the use of ocommycare, obozocare, and teleprompter. But, to answer your question you seem to forget I'm opposed to Obamacare and encourage a change to Medicare For All. The sooner the better.

James, anything to say about my question itself? Are the American people going to be provided with any opportunity to believe anything the leader of the free world has to say from now to the end of his term?

    Reply | Report abusive comment
  • James E.December 08, 2013 - 2:47 pm

Cookie, the America people will have to decide whether to believe him or not. No question he flubbed (if it was intentional) his statement on Obamacare, but since I don't believe he is the first human being on this earth to be without sin, I will evaluate his future statements as he makes them. For the right, let's assume he was perfectly without flubbs since the date he assumed the office, he would nevertheless still be attacked for being the perfect person. Damned if he does, damned if he doesn't -- the right complains no matter what as they have nothing else. Always negative and mean spirited. So, Cookie are you going to give him any slack on his flubbs? Oh, didn't think so.

The conspiracy theorist labeling is one of the tentacles of the old mis-information run by black ops. In April 1962 Skunkworks flew a plane from groom lake Nevada that to this day can break any altitude and speed record of any known aircraft that takes off and lands under its own power. It literally cruises faster than a bullet from a high powered rifle. In fact they don't know how fast it will fly because there was never any need to open it up. And no one knew about if for years because of misinformation campaigns. It is the same thing with The F-117 Stealth. It was flying around the night sky's for years before anyone knew about it.

Cookie, so are you saying that you don't like secrecy on the development of new covert equipment. Should we advertise the development to our possible adversaries? Should we have advertised the yearly status of development in 1941, 1942, 1943, 1944, and 1945 of our atomic weapon? Bad enough that Russian spies kept Stalin advised, and when Truman told him of the bomb Stalin was already aware.

Not at all James, my comment was more about how conspiracy theorists have been silenced and the connection to misinformation campaigns. Blaming Benghazi on a video is what a misinformation campaign looks like when it is orchestrated by a bunch of incompetent rank armatures. Calling it and all the others "phony scandals" is a means of throwing anyone who isn't buying the story into the conspiracy theorists category. When the misinformation strategy fails fall back on labeling people conspiracy theorists. Misinformation is how obamacare got passed. And people who said it is a government takeover of healthcare are still called conspiracy theorists.

"There is nothing wrong with being a conspiracy theorist" Really, James? What about when a "wrong" conspiracy theory gives aid and comfort and inspiration and motivation to militant jihadists? You know. Those Jews who did 9/11, building 7 et al. A "wrong" conspiracy theory is harmless? Really, James?

  • James E.December 08, 2013 - 9:24 pm

Phil, let's not over think this. Obviously, some things are conspiracies and others are not. If you think something is a conspiracy good for you. If you don't think it is a conspiracy then also good for you. It is not wrong to believe or not to believe. Cookie, Benghazi: Based on your past comments you believe the act and reporting of it is a conspiracy. Yet, you don't want to be called a conspiracy theorist because ????---------------it diminishes you or you believe it's a conspiracy, yet you don't want those on the left to rag on you as you know the truth (a truth you could have no way of knowing). Pick a side, yes or no. What do you want to be? And, remember, there is nothing wrong with being a conspiracy theorist -- there are lots of those around.

Sure, James. And are you as cavalier and charitable toward snake oil doctors peddling remedies "right" and "wrong" to Aunt Millie and Uncle Bennie and Jimmy and Jenny? That's different you say? Really? How so? Unless you can define a lateral force vector joining with the vertical gravity force vector your Building #7 conspiracy logic collapses on its own footprint. A majority of jihadists celebrate Bin Laden for 9/11 in one breath and in the next explain how the Jews blew up WTC. And more than a few on these forums join the "infowarriors" . . . useful idiots.

You always seem to get antsy when there is any hint your beloved President Bush may have been involved in anything. Get over it.
