If you have had the opportunity to view the Cameron Park Community Services District organizational chart, you will have noticed that the public is in the top box followed by the Board of Directors and then staff. Well it seems not everyone agrees with that.
During the June 19 CSD meeting, in a contentious moment, Director Scott McNeil screamed from the dais at several citizens that “this is not your meeting, it’s the board’s meeting.” Director McNeil was immediately greeted with shouts of “this is a public meeting,” and other less kind observations.
I find Director McNeil’s attitude puzzling. As I understand, he is planning another attempt to run for the Board of Supervisors. I can’t see how screaming “this is not your meeting” is going to be a good campaign slogan. It might fit on a bumper sticker but the sentiment isn’t one that will likely win him many votes. I would think the astounding arrogance displayed by Director McNeil would only be on exhibit after he has won his seat on the Board of Supervisors.
