Culture of corruption

EDITOR:

Letter writer Richard Kerr states that Obama is being asked to do his job with his hands tied behind his back, referring to efforts by the GOP-controlled House to oppose him. This gives him no alternative but to go ahead and do what he wants in spite of Congress. This is a very frightening letter because it basically says that Obama’s job is to dictatorially remake America into what he personally thinks it should be.

The letter seems to support the notion that we should elect a dictator every four years to rule as he sees fit. We are already getting this to a point where, like with immigration and health care, the president decides which laws will be enforced and which will be ignored. So much for the rule of law.

Mr. Kerr seems to forget that those Republicans in Congress were also elected just like the president to represent their various constituencies. The letter writer seems to take the position that Obama’s policies are by definition right therefore making any opposition wrong. Maybe Mr. Kerr is right and the president should be able to do whatever he wants unfettered by congressional opposition, but if he is, then the Founding Fathers wasted a lot of blood and treasure for nothing.

Let's not forget that obama was the One they had all been waiting for. He was marketed as the single greatest hope for socialist utopia who would right all the wrongs of this dreadful, horrible country. The world was going to love us again and obama was going to undo the endless damage done by the cowboy Bush. America was going to be respected again and everyone was going to get free healthcare. Having to witness what a clueless, dimwit, unqualified, incompetent failure obama is, having been so confident that he was going to stick it to the RICH and get even with those who willingly support themselves leaves them little option but to fall back on the default excuse made by all leftists in the face of repeated failure, SOMEONE ELSES FAULT.

(No relation to Richard Kerr, thank God) We all know what Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again …” It is the poor who habitually elect Democrats ... yet they are still POOR!

Cookie and Rod, so well said and especially, "yet they are still POOR! After all the idiotic efforts and money spent, I envision them sitting around scratching their empty heads wondering why things are getting any better for them. I figure their answer would be more effort, reform and taxpayer MONEY would solve the problem. How fitting...my CAPTCHA was "thieves eefated" May I change the last word to inflated!

moochelle offered up a whopper the other day to a group of kookaid addicts. She actually said that, "barack is working free Americans from any form of public assistance." Maybe they could start with themselves and all their crony following. http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-vineyard-vacation-at-7.6m-private-resort-over-75-rooms-booked-for-staff/article/2533598

Lately I have met both parities forgetting children...forgetting "the people"...forgetting the flag salute...dishonoring "volunteers" who are not doing something to get in a newspaper...I am so mad right now...what happen to "doing the right thing?"...when did people in groups decide it was okay to ignore other groups and just step right in to change things? CEDAPP should be dissolved for coming in on lies--maintaining lies...shame on the Chamber people who have also lied to our communities...ADVISORY BOARDS ARE NOT MANDATED IN THE GENERAL PLAN...THE GENERAL PLAN--IS A PLAN--IT IS GROUPS OF PEOPLE MAKING THINGS MANDATORY...AND THE BOS--JUST AGREES--IT IS THE PEOPLE THAT ARE THE PROBLEM. These groups are feeding them the information under the guise that a "community" wants it. Read. I would look to the Chambers and any Economic Development group as the problem.
