Diatribe too long

EDITOR: Reference Mr. Post’s diatribe entitled “We are not better off.” I congratulate him for jamming virtually every Tea/Republican talking point into one letter.

I wonder how Mr. Post will cope when “Barry” is reelected? I’m guessing not very well so we can look forward to him gifting us with more diatribes in the next four years.

In my youth I enjoyed writing diatribes. But an old wise editor told me that when you write a diatribe you lose the debate in the first paragraph.

Mr. Post might consider that wise advice.

But he was right. You on the other hand, are wrong, even though in fewer words. You lost me in your first paragraph anyway.

Mr. Smith, no I don't know -- what did he say? Who asked him if he had ever used another name? Does the Chief Justice ask before he begins the oath of office?

One of the reasons obama failed so miserably in the debate was because he was not permitted to venture into his traditional long winded, say nothing diatribe with which he typically uses on the people who are easily impressed with empty words. It is common with leftist, the less they have to say the more words it takes them. On the other hand the most effective way to communicate with a liberal is to use as many single syllable words as possible.

The James E's of the world believe that they have been enlighted with some form of unique insightful knowledge that the rest of us are incapable of comprehending which makes him intellectuall superior. He is not aware of the simple fact that we have all been indoctrinated with the same exact lefist nonsense that he has, we just understood why we had to believe any of it. They are all sour grapes all the time. Easy to spot, they look as though they just ate a lemon.

Do some people really think Barack Obama is actually Liberal? Talk about being ignorant of history...

Rob Jackson, You hit the jackpot. I'm baffled by anyone who can mount a diatribe focused on Obama as leftist or liberal. Marginally progressive? Maybe. But I kinda like when people go on and on; it's oddly entertaining to witness their alternate worldview.

Cookie 65. You are rambling and make no sense whatsoever. Your attacks are getting personal and that make you SOUND like someone who is sucking a lemon.

Longhofer ridiculing someone about diatribes... now THAT'S entertainment. The joined-at-the-hip-socialist-brother to John Garon who merely accepts and regurgitates the DNC talking points. The man who apparently has zero search engine skills, though we've had such things in American ISP's for more than 15 years now. The man who thinks he has successfully and factually refuted someone's point merely by saying "you're wrong." These reasons and many more are why Longhofer's complaint about a diatribe are amusing.

From the Congressional Record, 1963. The 45 main goals of Communism. http://www.uhuh.com/nwo/communism/comgoals.htm Most of them are amazingly specific and already carried out. I can see only about 3 that are NOT actively engaged and in-process. So, with regard to Obama being a Socialist/Communist.... look at the list and tell us ONE item on it that he is actively against or vocally opposed to, and I will reconsider my own belief that he is a Socialist/Communist.

A third try. Mr. Martin, I've reviewed the 45 items you referenced. You drop 3, so please tell us specifically how President Obama supports the other 42. Be specific and educate all of us.

Good grief James E. You must know your not going to like the answers, so all these questions, questions, questions must just be your way of staying afloat in a debate. Don't you have a computer right in front of you? For once in your life, could you do your own homework? Why can't you ever just look up something for yourself? Have you ever done your own research on anything?. Don't you know how to navigate the web?. Everyone else on the planet who owns a computer seems to be able to research their own facts except for you..It's easy, even all those Tea/Republicans you can't stop thinking about can do it, come on give it a try. You may not want to cast your vote until you do. Oh, I forgot, it doesn't matter of your educated on the facts before you vote.

Catherine and Rob made comments to the effect that in no way could Obama be a Socialist. So I presented a list, proffered by the US Congress, excerpted from the book "The Naked Communist", as a comprehensive descriptor of what constitutes a socialist/communist. Not from MY perspective, but from the US Congress, circa 1963. It has 45 items. IMO, 42 of them have either come fully to fruition or are well on their way. Regarding Obama, I asked someone to pick one example, just ONE, from the entire list and tell me how Obama has ever spoken against it or legislated against it. Just one. Not a 2/3 majority, not a plurality, just ONE item from the list. I thought that proposition was simple enough...

Warning: Diatribe follows, just for the heck of it... There you go again, Jack. All jacked-up about some reference, in this case a list provided by none other than Cleon Skousen, a name that I'm sure will ring bells for many people. I mean, not any people. A "faith based political theorist" and a Bircher. I don't even know where you find this stuff. .... Yes, I believe Obama to be a centrist. Frankly I think his chief flaw has been to be overly accommodating to his opposition (that is, where he's not 100% blocked by fringe-lunatic nay-sayers in Congress). A Socialist would have nationalized the banks in a crisis. A Socialist would have taken the insurance companies completely out of the mix in healthcare, immediately reducing costs. A Socialist would see to it that the price of gas in CA is the same as it is in Arkansas. The man is not a Socialist, or a Commie, or even particularly liberal.

Catherine, Obama is a centrist? Really? Really? I guess that must make Romney a liberal.

Governor Romney was a liberal Republican, if that's what you mean by liberal. He improved healthcare, centralized lots of taxes for use at the state level (unfortunately starving the cities and localities, but never mind that.) Liberal Republican. Yes.

Honey Boo Boo, no it's not my homework. Mr. Martin makes the claim and assigns us the homework to prove his claim. It's his homework to come with the the 42 items showing President Obama to be Socialist, et al. Common practice of Mr Martin, makes claim and wants us to do the homework proving his own claim.

JO Marty- just because something was inserted in the Congressional Record does not mean it has been endorsed by Congress. Or anyone else for that matter. Are you really that simple?

I know the Tea Party is alive and viable. I see that Leftist nut jobs hold disdain for these numerous organizations. Wouldn't the Socialist be better off by supporting their March on Wall Street crowd? It seems the only one's left around after the DNC money dried up spend their time raping each other. How about a little leadership for your rag tag rebellion.

So Cathy it's safe to say that you are a socialist or communist because after your description of the "polished turd", it most definitely takes one to know one right. JM I will bow out kind sir, for you obviously have everything quite at hand.

Clearly, Steers is showing the strain of knowing that his team is going down in flames. Even after wiping the floor with Obama in the debate, Romney is still getting trounced. Its fun to pretend otherwise, but tough luck, kenny.

Amid the feckless insults and diversions, we come back to the very simple issue and question... Has Obama voiced open opposition or taken any action to oppose even one of the 45 points on that list? And here's a tip... besmirching someone's name or mocking them for some other, unrelated reason merely shows you're not prepared to engage the discussion.

Mr. Martin, so instead of answering the question, you ask what the President has done to oppose the 45 items on your John Birch list. How about you telling the audience how many of the 45 that Mitt has opposed?
