Different amendment

EDITOR:

A letter titled, “Worried about different amendment” that appeared in the Feb. 1 edition of the Democrat piqued my interest. I am not sure what the point was other than to castigate Sheriff D’Agostini for his stand on our gun rights, but all I can say is, wouldn’t any violation of the Second Amendment, perceived or otherwise, lead to actions by the people, perceived or otherwise, that would preclude any violation of the Fourth Amendment (”The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects…”)?

Why is it that the 2nd Amendment is the ONLY part of the Constitution that most of MD readers seem to know anything about? Did they try reading ARTICLE 1, Section 8 of the actual Constitution?.... How about the "Articles of Confederation"..... OR ..... Federalist Papers? Try #5.... All part of the PROCESS that framed the final Constitution.... The SECOND AMENDMENT--like the 4th--(Bill of Rights) was ADDED to the NEW Constitution but the ARMS & Militia was ALREADY in the Constitution..... It talked about HOW THE GOVT COULDN'T AFFORD AN ARMY TO PROTECT THE "UNION.".... But this isn't about personal protection or country.....it's about supporting the Gun Manufacturers.... Nothing MORE!
