I thoroughly enjoy visiting my local library and frequently use its services. There is nothing more relaxing than sitting by a warm fire in the winter and reading a good book, but sadly, libraries are headed the way of the dinosaur, typewriter, Yellow Pages, magazines, newspapers and bookstores. As the digital electronic world develops, print editions of newspapers, magazines and books will simply vanish. Propping libraries up financially with more taxes will merely prolong the outcome, not eliminate it. Unless libraries develop a different model and increase their relevancy in a digital world, they too will vanish.

The library’s 389 Nora Roberts titles reflect our educated, well versed citizenry’s reading habits. And to think that someone said unimproved parcels don’t read.
