With North Korea being especially bellicose in openly threatening us with nuclear attack, with Iran waiting in the wings to produce another terrorist attack on us possibly using nuclear weapons, with worldwide economic uncertainties threatening food and energy shortages, with our defense budget being severely reduced, is this really a good time for Obama and his minions in state and local governments to try and disarm us? Some may dismiss this observation as paranoia but I call the observation the “Red Dawn (after the movie) Be Aware and Survive Warning.”

After all, is it not better to have firepower and not need it than to need firepower and not have it?

Please do as I did and contact your federal, state and local government representatives and tell them not to keep trying to disarm us.

I thought my pistol was for home defense. Apparently, according to Mr. Arjil, it's for fighting North Korea and Iran. Strange, because my years in the Army taught me that fighting nation states requires more than small arms. Also, I had no idea Congress was passing a law to disarm us -- looks like they cannot even pass a law for background checks. So, Mr. Arjil, rest easy, your small arms are safe and they will be available for you to fight North Korea and Iran.

James, I would bet you understand this letter slightly better than you let on. Mr. Arjil is recognizing the fact that we share this planet with people who wish to do us harm. Whether it be a loon dictator 10,000 miles away or one of gov moonbeans released felons. obama and his regime do not delegate our freedom, their sworn duty is to preserve and protect it. Disarmed citizens are no longer citizens. Great news about Mr. Fred, they are tough little dogs but they don't know they are little.

Background checks are only for law abiding citizens, they will do nothing to stop criminals from getting guns. Criminals don't waste their hard stolen money paying retail prices for guns.

OK I'm in. What do I tell my representatives? What specific legislation has Obama and his minions introduced that will take our guns? The gun control measures that are proposed in Washington DC are nothing compared to what we already have in California and yet we still own guns. So what do I tell my representatives to resist?

Calm down Arjil, I remember 26 women and children being shot and killed. It wasn't Obama who brought this up. The problem is in the sad reaction to this tragedy, everyone reaching for their guns instead of their hearts and minds. Stop your dead tracks in front of a mirror and stare down the other victim, you and me in losing our own humanity.
