EDITOR:
Doctor Lehrman is retiring in July. Words cannot express the appreciation I feel for this kind and smart man. Patient confidentiality laws make it hard to organize a gathering of any sort, so if you are or have been a patient of Dr. Lehrman, please find some way to thank him for his long and fruitful career, service to our community and help to each of us. Doctor Lehrman has been our family physician since we were having our first child in 1981. I can’t imagine how many children he has helped bring into the world, but he was there for our two fine children with his always sound and caring advice and guidance. And the same for years of the usual family illnesses and problems. In 2009, he probably saved my life by finding a stage III melanoma, in time to be surgically removed, where another physician had missed it. He found it partly because he remembered a skin problem I had four years before, that I had forgotten about. That is just typical of this brilliant man and physician. I treasure his being our family doctor and will greatly miss his kind advice and counsel and friendship. He will always be an important part of our lives and of this community. Please say thank you in your own way to Dr. Lehrman.
