Dog problem

By From page A5 | June 30, 2014

I feel the need to warn mothers of young children in Placerville who visit the Lumsden Park. There is a woman who takes her mastiff mix dog there and is apparently aware that it has a problem with kids. I got a call Wednesday night that this dog attacked my 2 1/2 year-old granddaughter while she was running around on the grass. I thank God she was wearing a heavy coat so the wounds were minor. I also thank God the dog did not grab her by the neck or face.

Here’s a novel idea — if you take your dog to a park with kids and the dog has issues, take it somewhere else or take it home. We are dog lovers but we are responsible for their behavior. Many people are scarred for life because of some form of animal attack. I’m grateful my granddaughter is so resilient. This lady needs to step up and be a responsible citizen. I feel she is responsible for the hospital costs.
