Andrea B. Hay’s story about Cal Fire is in line with what happened to us. The difference is that we changed our mailing address from a Shingle Springs rural route to a Rescue PO Box. We have lived at our current location for over 50 years. Our first Cal Fire bill was for our residence and we promptly paid it. It was sent to our Rescue PO box. The second bill was also sent to the Rescue PO box, however it was for two residences on our property. It seems that we live in an older double wide mobile home. We have separate, DMV issued licenses for the two units, which are one house. This time they want us to pay the fee on both units. The units were purchased in 1966. We still don’t know what is going to happen. The sad part of this story is that both my wife and I worked locally for CDF (Cal Fire today) for many years. It makes us wonder.
