Downtown is looking good

By From page A5 | October 16, 2013

EDITOR:

Dear folks, I’d just like to say that since 1984 when I first opened my shop, that downtown has never had a better look and feel than it does now.

Consider one new aspect of it: Every weekend night (starting as early as Thursday evening and continuing up until Sunday night) there are some dynamite free clubs, restaurants and watering establishments offering up live music and other free entertainment. In an economy like this, it is nice to know that people can have a fun time, and enjoy top-flight entertainment all for next to nothing price-wise.

Every time I leave work around 10 p.m. (Thursday on) and walk down Main Street, I see plenty of happy folks having a good time. I see regulars, I see tourists, I see young, I see old, I see multiple cultures, and hear some really great music wafting through the fresh smelling breeze. You should come once and I’ll bet you’ll come again.

Powell’s Steamer, The Winesmith, It’s Personal, The Cary House Alley, Liar’s Bench, Hangtown Antiques and a few others, all located within footsteps of each other, are consistently
pleasing tourists and locals alike.

Enjoy the musical and friendly nightlife in old town Placerville, from a single workhorse not affiliated with the PDA.
