In the past week I have on four different occasions had the bad luck to be behind a car on the freeway where the driver is fully involved in texting. What I found interesting was these drivers were all women who appeared to range in age from 35 to 50-plus. All four of these drivers were traveling in the fast lane on Highway 50, going at least 10 mph slower than the traffic flow, weaving back and forth and in general a hazard on the road. One woman had kids with her, one had a dog, while the other two thankfully were without passengers. To anyone who texts while driving — no, you are not driving well, no, you are not maintaining a steady pace, yes, you are a hazard and the many drivers who get stuck behind you do not appreciate it.
