William Dyng, I can use logic on you also.

Liberals state that “If we can just stop one death” when referring to enacting additional gun laws.

Then why wouldn’t that logic apply to making abortion illegal and “If we can stop just one death” when discussing abortion.

See, the problem is you Libs don’t look at what goes against your logic and only apply Confirmation Bias and run into Cognitive Dissonance which blows your mind.

Advice for you……stick to the Constitution and what it says.

The Obama Admin is starting to realize that the polls show that this is a loosing battle for them and are in damage control right now.

Evelyn, regarding doctors kill more Americans than gun related deaths combined…the percentage of doctor related deaths would increase dramaticlly if we were to add the approximately 1.2 million babies they kill in the womb each year just in American. I’ve heard tell “if babies had guns their would be no abortions”.

Evelyn, there is a particular way I find best describes our politcal parties in the grand scheme of things. Imagine a pair of legs, the left being the left leg, the right being the right leg. One is constantly the opposite of the other but both are heading in the exact same direction. The apathy of the American people is responsible for it. Those who actually want more government and more government authority (socialism) have run our schools for years producing young adults who are totally clueless when it comes to history and are more engaged in pop culture than what their government is doing to all of us. Plato said, “One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.” This last election was proof of that statement.

cookie, I believe the real powers remains in place, regardless of the political party periodically charged with being their public face. The policy shading may vary, but the direction is unchanged. While we quibble over whether the sidewalk width is 5′ or 8′ our focus is conveniently diverted away from the road’s destination. Yes, I do see what this administration is doing, and I don’t like any of what I see. No, I do not believe a Romney administration would have been any better — just a slightly different emphasis. In this forum differing perceptions are manifest. I cannot suggest how they should be handled, other than that I know treating one another with respect is critical. A mind/psyche under assault, seeking self-preservation, will not open.

Evelyn, I don’t disagree with you that the government exsits now for its own best interests. So do you think obama will continue and accelorate that ideal or resist it? Not that Romney would have been my ideal choice but I don’t believe he would have pushed this country toward all out socialism the way obama is doing. Did you see where after $800+ in stimulus and 4 consecutive years of trillion dollar deficit spending by obama the economy retracted again? And what is obama’s answer? We haven’t done enough. Maybe the writters of the BILL OF RIGHTS weren’t clear enough for you. It is not a bill of government rights nor a bill of granted rights ‘from’ the government. It is a chronologically ordered list of the rights of the law abiding citizens of “WE THE PEOPLE” not we the government. Where do you stand on the federal governemt assuming rights and powers not granted to it in any of our founding documents? Or do you not understand the question? The 2nd Amendment is only an obsticle to people with no good intentions. It is not an obsticle to anyone who respects Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. If you choose to ride the train of a government dictatorship in this country why would you insist everyone else join you? We are a free people no thanks to the left.

The ignorance is on the people who believe the federal Govt. has the right by executive order to change the Constitution. The Sheriff joined hundreds of other Police Chief’s and Sheriff’s nationwide by standing with the law abiding citizens he represents and letting Biden and Bummer know their actions are nothing but political stunts. Nothing Biden proposed was designed to increase safety at schools, local Police and Sheriff’s have had to this on their own. Their was no new strict increased federal sentencing proposals for armed criminals and the dangerous mentally ill who possess firearms which would have an immediate crime reduction. Since all of these transplanted Bay Area liberals who moved here think the people of this county are ignorant in regards to their Constitution, I would encourage them to move back home to their liberal friends and quit trying to impose their liberal values here.

Ashley, you’re correct, our sheriff is not a Constitutional scholar. He is though smart enough to recognize good advice how to appeal to the gun toting, 2nd amendment NRA member community which I believe he sees as his base for re-election. His press release which smacks of political posturing, is well timed. With almost a thousand local gun enthusiast expected to attend the upcoming gun show and NRA fund raiser at the El Dorado County Fairgrounds. Sheriff D’Agostini has cleverly turned these events into political rally’s where he will be honored and admired as having stood up to the liberal Vice President of the united States of America, and hopefully re-elected.

I recently read an article which reports the conclusion of extensive testing and research on the average and borderline IQ’s of adults in the US today. The news is that, relative to the historical “average” of 100, the “average” IQ of today is 79. Case in point above. Elected officials are charged with representing and protecting even these constituents.
