Endorse Veerkamp for District 3

EDITOR:

I am writing in support of Brian Veerkamp for District 3 Supervisor of the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors.

I worked as an Assistant to the Supervisor of District 3 with Supervisors Nielson and Borelli and also in District 1 for Supervisor Dupray. I understand the ongoing challenges of the county and the important questions and issues that come through the supervisors’ offices each day. Based on my own experiences, I believe that Brian Veerkamp possesses the qualities and qualifications necessary to become an effective supervisor who will provide leadership and fair representation to the constituents of the district.

Brian was born and raised in El Dorado County and attended local schools. He began his fire service career in Placerville and then worked in the El Dorado Hills Fire Department where he was promoted to Fire Chief. He understands local issues and is knowledgeable of meeting laws, budget planning and constraints, and jurisdictional issues.

Brian has already proven himself to be a community leader. He served as a member and the President of the Camino School District Board for years. He is a long-time member of Rotary and many other service groups and organizations. He has always worked tirelessly on behalf of the communities in which he has lived and worked. I would expect no less of him as a Supervisor of District 3. Indeed, he will take no salary or benefits if elected.

I am no longer a constituent in District 3 but if I were, he’d have my vote. Please vote for Brian Veerkamp to represent El Dorado County in the District 3 Supervisorial District.

  1. Barbara Rogers says:

I’m right with you Elaine. While I also cannot vote for Brian Veerkamp, our household supports him 100%. I have known Brian since he became a Volunteer Firefighter with the Placerville Fire Dept. I was there was he was hired full time and I had the pleasure of watching Brian mature into the fine person he is today. When he left El Dorado County FPD to work at El Dorado Hills Fire, my heart broke. Brian has proven himself to be a leader but more importantly he is a kind and good person with a wonderful wife and 2 lovely daughters. He will do what is right for this county and all the residents, no matter what area t hey live in.
