Does the letter writer know what percentage a flat tax would have to be to equal current tax revenue?

Hey sid, you leftists and your loony talking points show just how little thinking you do for yourself. It is the same as you believing that just because I know global warming is a fraud that I don’t want clean air and water. And J, who is to decide who has the means to pay more? With a flat tax or a consumption tax everyone participates in the tax system and those who just ride on it will start to care who they elect. Why do you think the libs are against it?

A progressive tax system accomplishes two things. It becomes a social engineering document rather than a financial document and secondly it is a simple way to divide people which allow those in power to expand their power. The fire tax is a great example of how taxes can be used selectively on individuals or small groups.

Simple and fair and balanced. Allows for those who have the means to pay more than for those who do not. Problem is the two parties running the Congress will have a hard time giving up ways to take more of your dollars. IRS will be reduced to bean counters collecting and distributing the sales taxes collected. Wonder how long it will take for the government to foul things up again?
