Fall Community Clean-Up Day

By From page A5 | October 16, 2013

I would like to thank everyone who volunteered their time to make our Fall Community Clean-Up Day on Sept. 28 such a success.

Our City Clerk Susan Zito and her husband Richard led the effort, along with Kelly Segura from our Finance Department, Vice Mayor Carl Hagen and Lori Warden from the Placerville Kiwanis Club. El Dorado Disposal was generous to provide the dumpsters, Snowline Hospice was on hand to receive donations and El Dorado Transit was patient with the throngs of cars moving through the transit depot.

In fact, it was a record year with the amount of garbage and donated goods handled that day. The only downside was that after wading through dumpsters, Richard Zito ended up in the ER with a hurt ankle. The good news, with the fabulous new emergency room, he was patched up and out of Marshall in record time.

What a lovely service you all provided to our community, and we are deeply grateful.

Placerville Mayor
