From democracy to dictatorship

EDITOR:

The city of Placerville gathered the homeowners who lived in the islands area of Placerville (country people) and told them they will be annexed into the city without letting them vote on the issue.

I think the city government is taking their jobs to the next level, which is dictatorship. If they get away with this, then comes Smith Flat-Motor City. They admit that they don’t have the money to maintain what they already have.

Get real people; clean up your own house before you take on more.

What ever happened to asking a communities thoughts--without guiding them or just telling them to do something. I dont get it.

QUESTION - Will these "island people" be charged city water rates? Will EID lose customers? Will Placerville gain customers? Who gets th' loot?

Where are these islands? Who has a map of these areas?

Does the fact that the City called off this idea make any difference whatsoever? Nah, why let facts get in the way of a good whine?
