Fun day in Pollock Pines

EDITOR:

Just a quick thank you to the Pollock Pines-Camino Rotary Club for the chance to bowl on Saturday, April 20 in their Strikes for Scholarships at Knotty Pine Lanes.

I filled in for my mom Patsy Ferguson and Jeanie Harper and had a blast. Thank you both, ladies. I had not been to Knotty Pine for about 10 years and I was very surprised and happy with the updates and changes. Great job.

After bowling, my mom and I went up to Burgers R Us and had the best fresh made cheeseburger and fries. Their hamburgers are not pre-made frozen patties, the fries are fresh cut, so that you taste the meat and potatoes, not processed yuck.

Thank you to Sylvia and Jim for a super wonderful meal. Your menu rocks. Good luck to you both. We will be back soon to try out your buffalo and elk burgers. If you have not been to visit, do it now. You will smile when you leave.

    Pollock Pines is the best. Another really great stop for foodies wanting to avoid processed yuck is Burger Barn & Cafe at 6404 Pony Express Trail. Something else my family and friends love about them is their fantastic staff. Always a smile and supercalafragalisticexpialadoshus service!

    Jessica--I find it odd to advertise on some one elses reveiw--so because of this being the second time "Burger Barn" has done this to Burgers-r-us...I went up to meet them and order a hamburger. These are nice people--they were friendly, and listened to how I wanted my order done. I tried a traditional hamburger--american cheese--lettuce--tomato--just basic. My order was to go--it was an excellent hamburger. It was made to my order. The french fries were wonderful. It has been a long time since I have had just an "old fashion" hamburger with crispy french fries. Im glad Ms. Long inspired me to go check it out--I will go back. I will tell my friends. Jessica--we have two burger places in town--another by Sly park...if a place sells good food--all these places can exist together--without commenting on someone else s review. Great hamburger !!!! I also had a regular cup of coffee with it--sometimes "basic" is better.

    Burgers r us deserves to have it s review left alone without some one else advertising. I am glad Harper got her name in there...lolol Rotary worked hard on this event--the event is theirs--sorry Harper. Maybe your writers can get you in on the Wagon train event this weekend. The walk to business is Friday--but it already belongs to the Chamber
