Garon’s comedy hour

EDITOR:

I see John Garon using an Alice in Wonderland metaphor to try to denigrate the Tea Party and praise Obamacare. I have to admit that your use of Alice in Wonderland is appropriate since if anybody ever resided in Never Never Land, it’s you.

In his convoluted and bizarre letter Mr. Garon tries to say that anybody that supports the second amendment and opposes the debacle of Obamacare is irrational. Linking the Second Amendment and Obamacare requires a warped mind, so let’s take them individually. He says that the Tea Party supports a gun in every hand to make us safer.

First, while the Tea Party does support the Second Amendment, its main focus is the size of government and the crushing debt that is being left for our grandchildren. But back to the Second Amendment. The Second Amendment is a right enumerated in the Bill of Rights. It doesn’t mandate that everybody own a gun just like the Constitution doesn’t mandate that everybody vote. Although it ensures their right to do so. A right is something that you are free to exercise or not at your discretion.

Now to the debacle of Obamacare. Where to start? I suppose we could mention the Website that after hundreds of millions of dollars being spent looks like it was designed by a second grade computer class. Talk about a cluster. Then we could move on to that bald-faced lie that if you liked your plan you could keep it. Obama was still saying that in 2012. However, a recently released memo from the IRS told the administration in 2010 that millions of individual policy holders would lose their coverage because the cost of their plans would skyrocket and many insurers were expected to cancel them altogether. Anybody following the news knows that this has been happening almost daily.

One of the idiotic reasons that costs are rising is that Obamacare is forcing standardized coverage that for many just doesn’t make sense — like a grandmother paying for neo-natal coverage. With the multitude of almost daily disasters associated with this ill-conceived healthcare plan even a group of Senate Democrats are calling for a postponement of its implementation. If the administration does postpone implementation it will be a real hoot since the GOP was willing to end the shutdown for just such a postponement. For the Democrats to do now what would have avoided the shutdown in the first place would be ironic in the extreme.

Mr. Alger all of my life I have had health insurance policies that have included coverage that I would never use. This is the way the "for profit health care insurance companies" balance what they pay out in benefits. Let me ask does your grandmother need Viagra because most insurance policies cover that as well.

"We Are Heading For The Greatest Doctor Shortage In American History" - HERE: According to Deloitte Consulting, a whopping 875,000 Americans were “medical tourists” in 2010. As Obamacare is fully implemented, it is inevitable that we will see that number soar well over a million.

What used to be called adolescence and rambunctiousness and was easily cured with physical activity (before the leftists outlawed physical activity) has become another unintended consequence of leftist do-goodism and an epidemic of harmful prescription medication. http://www.france24.com/en/20131106-surge-adhd-diagnoses-gets-red-flag

Dink: What is it you want me to take away from The Baltimore Sun article . . . somehow related to what you perceive as my political preference? Seriously. In case by now it's not abundantly clear, I regard party politics as a terminally corrupt corporatist conduit for power by influence peddlers. At the top, Republican and Democrat are simply "flavors" in political ice cream wars. Periodically we get hypnotized by the notion that our vote matters.

Extremes e.g. Alger is NOT where the American people are.... Dink, Obama bundler and billionaire Joe Liemandt gave financial support to the libertarian in the Jersey race. Which is what got Robert C. Sarvis on the ballot. Sarvis ended up with nearly 7% of the vote. Considering McAuliffe won by around 2% of the vote it wouldn't take a mathematician to figure out the left knew they would loose if they didn't split the vote for Cuccinelli. The question you should ask Dink is, if obamacare is so popular how come a radical leftists clintoite like McAuliffe barely won in leftist New Jersey with a split vote for the opposition? 2% is less than what the left typically pads any election with thru their one person three votes strategy.

Dink, to summarize the link I posted for Gerald the individuals who had their insurance cancelled did not own "junk" insurance. They owned excellent insurance. They are dumbfounded as to why it was cancelled and the replacement is much more expensive with higher deductibles. They were very happy with what they owned. Where does the left get their authority to tell them what they own isn't good enough? Their income is 4 times higher than the level to qualify for a taxpayer funded subsidy so the are thinking of adjusting their income level so they will qualify for a subsidy. In other words Dink, they don't want to pay their fair share, they want someone else to.

Dink, a whole lot of dim's up for re-election don't agree with you. What do you suppose they might know that you don't? Of course if you bother to read this you will find out that the underlying theme here is more taxpayer funded giveaways that their government dependent supporters can't get access to because the $670million/3yr. website had a lifespan shorter than the Titanic. Here is a snippet from the article. -- " The release went on to say that Begich complained about “an unworkable website, technical glitches and inaccurate information about peoples’ individual situations. Begich demanded the administration fix the problems immediately so Alaskans, including the 55,000 eligible for subsidies to lower monthly premiums, can realize the many benefits due to them as a result of the health reform law." -- http://blogs.rollcall.com/wgdb/senate-democrat-presses-obama-at-white-house-meeting/

At no time has the approval ratings of obamacare topped the disapproval ratings of obamacare. In fact the approval ratings of obamacare have never ever breached 50%. If the passing of obamacare gained the repubs 675 election victories in 2010, what will the implementation of it do in 2014? No wonder the left is sweating bullets.

"Very Low" Obamacare Enrollment Admitted As Young People Just Say No - HERE: Sebelius told the [Senate Finance] committee that the site will be repaired by the end of the month amid a “couple of hundred” functional fixes that have been identified. “We are into the list but we are not where we need to be,” she said.
