George Lowry best choice for City Council

EDITOR:

George Lowry is running for one of two open Placerville City Council seats. I have observed George at many community events and meetings over the past several years and have found him to be smart, articulate and always having a firm grasp of the issues at hand. He did not just wake up one day and decide he needed a hobby. His decision to run was made after attending City Council meetings regularly for over a year as well as other community meetings such as the Economic Development Advisory meetings, the Planning Commission, and Parks and Recreation meetings. He is familiar with the council members, the city procedures, and the challenges that Placerville faces. George is not a politician and he does not have a hidden agenda. He simply wants to serve the city where he lives and raised his family.

In addition, his work at the California Emergency Management Agency has given him experience in getting complex projects complete by working through differences. George has done his homework and has the expertise to start serving Placerville on day one. He has my total support.

Unfortunately, George wears a Carol Patton campaign button. George I'm sorry, what do you see that we don't? Carol has done some good things for Placerville, but recently she's been on the wrong side of every major issue. She was pro-redevelopment, pro-roundabout and anti-preservation of the Historic Hangman/Herrick building. Where do you stand?... Carol's platform gives way and leaves you hanging!
