The article titled “Take my word for it: Just be content” by Patrick Ibarra was a very well thought out article that helped me in my own life. Reading Patrick’s words about being content with the things we do have, instead of always wanting more, really opened my eyes to the things I can be thankful for in my life. He said how a healthy family is what matters most, which is very true. Family is the only relationship that will always be a part of your life no matter what.
Patrick’s outlook on life is golden because he has figured out money and fame doesn’t matter like most of the world would think it does. He really sees and appreciates the beauties of life and I completely agree with him. Patrick’s main goal is for readers to understand how much they have and to love and enjoy it, rather than whine and complain about the things we do not have. I feel like it is a very good reminder that everyone needs every once in a while; it was a great choice to put this in the opinion section of the newspaper.
Towards the end of his article, Patrick refers to some relevant quotes by Bob Billingsley, who is a columnist, and very inspirational. He is just emphasizing how we should want to live our lives without limiting beliefs and really take advantage of the blessings we have. Reading Patrick’s words and Bob’s quotes changed my life because they are strongly encouraging me to go out there and live the life I’ve always dreamed of. Anything is possible if you believe you can do it. Thank you to Patrick Ibarra for taking the time to write this, because even if he may feel his opinions and work don’t matter, it changed at least one person’s life: Mine.
