Government shutdown

Where is the common sense ?

Excuse me but I just can’t stand the stupidity and irresponsibility of this government. Yosemite is closed. Sand Mountain “the desert” is closed. How can you close the desert because there isn’t money to run it?

God ran the desert just fine for a long time without any revenue. We pay when we drive in these places, we pay huge fees to camp, pay to ski there, pay to hike, pay for the food and the bathrooms. In the real world, a business would have to take in as much and more money as they needed to support the business. If the numbers don’t work you need to cut your operating expenses or increase your fees … or close the business.

But not the great U.S. government, even though we pay for all these many services through income tax, property tax, sales tax, DMV fees, etc. and we pay directly for things such as Yosemite and Sand Mountain. Uncle Sam says we need more money — we’re so bad at running balanced intelligent services that we need to continually print more and more money that has no value behind it, essentially no gold in Fort Knox to back up the paper.

So if we can’t keep printing worthless paper, “debt” to screw the future of our kids and maintain the great dominance and power of the U.S., then boo hoo, waaaa, waaaa, we will close all these goodies. You can’t have them, even though you already pay for them.

Run this country with some intelligence and responsibility or throw them out. All of them.

And I don’t blame the Republicans; I think they are trying to stop the government from providing another service that can’t and won’t be paid for with actual revenue to support it. It will take more money than it brings in, another out-of-control, irresponsibly funded service.

OK, off to the treadmill before I have a heart attack. Think, act, live responsibly.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Why is Congress still getting a paycheck during the government shutdown? Unbelievable.
