Government shutdown

EDITOR:

Where is the common sense ?

Excuse me but I just can’t stand the stupidity and irresponsibility of this government. Yosemite is closed. Sand Mountain “the desert” is closed. How can you close the desert because there isn’t money to run it?

God ran the desert just fine for a long time without any revenue. We pay when we drive in these places, we pay huge fees to camp, pay to ski there, pay to hike, pay for the food and the bathrooms. In the real world, a business would have to take in as much and more money as they needed to support the business. If the numbers don’t work you need to cut your operating expenses or increase your fees … or close the business.

But not the great U.S. government, even though we pay for all these many services through income tax, property tax, sales tax, DMV fees, etc. and we pay directly for things such as Yosemite and Sand Mountain. Uncle Sam says we need more money — we’re so bad at running balanced intelligent services that we need to continually print more and more money that has no value behind it, essentially no gold in Fort Knox to back up the paper.

So if we can’t keep printing worthless paper, “debt” to screw the future of our kids and maintain the great dominance and power of the U.S., then boo hoo, waaaa, waaaa, we will close all these goodies. You can’t have them, even though you already pay for them.

Run this country with some intelligence and responsibility or throw them out. All of them.

And I don’t blame the Republicans; I think they are trying to stop the government from providing another service that can’t and won’t be paid for with actual revenue to support it. It will take more money than it brings in, another out-of-control, irresponsibly funded service.

OK, off to the treadmill before I have a heart attack. Think, act, live responsibly.

Oh yeah, one more thing. Why is Congress still getting a paycheck during the government shutdown? Unbelievable.

No, it appears I'm not really back. Perhaps half way back, because I cannot hit reply on any specific comment?? So, any comments I make will not be specifically tied to a letter. Confusion reigns -- at least for me.

You don't blame the Republicans? Than you really don't know what is going on! In government you cannot throw a tantrum and act like a 2 yr, old and say you are not going to negotiate until a law is changed. The Affordable Care Act is here to stay and those racist old men need to deal with it!

BOTH SIDES said YES lets spend that money..... and now they don't what to pay the bills????? ..... I wonder? Can I tell my mortgage holder "The debt of house is too high. I'm not going to pay it. There is only one President in history who flat out ahead of time said he refused to negotiate anything and shut down the govt. and yes you guessed it, Ali-Bummer and his 40 thieves. His job is to negotiate which he obviously was never qualified for. He also ordered the closure of every thing he could that was never closed before ever for effect, including Sly Park Science Center which has no USFS employees, while yesterday he allowed Pelosi to conduct a rally for illegals at the WWII Memorial in an area that he closed to WWII veterans. His complaint today was he and his wife couldn't use tax payer funds to fly in our jet and go fund raising in San Fran again. This admin is a train wreck and off the rails, next, if the debt ceiling is missed for his need of "crises," watch the markets for a free fall.

Amazed; you liberals are always entertaining and always covering up and always in the minority here in this county which always brings up the question why are you here are you new to the area? Davis is close for your kind of thinking and the Bay is near for you to return to. You played the race card poorly as your only thought, is that all you've got? You forgot to say something about the Tea Party that scares you so much whenever legal citizens with jobs who pay taxes gather, left out Bush who is to blame for something and flat out neglected our Congressman if you know who he is.

  • AmazedOctober 09, 2013 - 4:48 pm

Poor Frank, I didn't use any race card. You do by calling your President Ali. I do not have to point out Bush and his failings or anything else. This county is extremely red, and yet it is you, stupid man that is the minority within our nation. No worries, you and your kind should all congregate in Mississippi and wag your foul tongues among friends. Talk to the hand.

  • 1036-FrankOctober 09, 2013 - 5:32 pm

Yes Amazed you used the race card twice now to attack "white men" therein lies your problem as this county is full of them and full of people who work and pay taxes and there are several Tea Parties here and therefore not many of who you want to be here, "your kind" must be really scarce whatever kind that is. Why again, are you here? You are obsessed with race and there is always a reason. You also lied about it which is how you operate obviously. Liberals always throw out the race card to see if it plays unless called out then they switch to a new attack, and you are in a very minority position in a very conservative county, how's that working out for you? Ready to go back to the Bay yet?

I suggest that these like liberal minds go where their kind is, if they desire to play the race card and hate conservatives, Tea Party people and Republicans they will not be happy here so why be here, fairly simple. Same reason I don't move to Davis or the Bay, I have nothing in common with liberals as does about 99% of this county. This county has nothing in common with the liberals and we have very few liberals because of this. This is simply not their type of country, the few are not increasing. I again urge them to relocate where old friends await their return in the places they left. Leaving there to change people here is a failure and will not work in this century anyway

Frank, you better simmer down lest dirtying up a good pair of Depends. The Affordable Healthcare Act for Americans or should I say Romney-care (the Mass. Healthcare Reform Act signed by former Gov Romney in 2006) is here to stay. Passed by the House of Representatives at 11:19 PM EST on Saturday, November 7, 2009, by a vote of 220-215, that makes it law. But that wasn't good enough, Pee Parties took it to Supreme Court, who stated that indeed it is constitutional. Where is your precious constitution now? Oh, your probably wiping your ars with it. But still not good enough for you folks, so Prez took out med device tax, still not good enough, so Prez delayed big businesses participation and still your party is blackmailing the president . The Pee Party is crumbling, the woodbine is slipping off your outhouse and you Frank right along with it, and frankly Frank your starting to stink. You are nothing more than a curmudgeon who probably hasn't committed a kind act in his life. Nothing for mankind, ergo, a waste of existence. Mankind won't even know you were ever here. Darn, wasn't it Republican, President Lincoln that wrote the Emancipation Proclamation to abolish slavery and it was the liberal slave owners who were so upset that their "Law of the Land" in the Constitution was being attacked??? Get over it, perhaps we would not have a black President and have to listen to the racists whining of a group of Democrats if they had been successful in NOT getting the Law of the Land changed to abolish slavery!!! Instead the liberal KKK was formed to keep everyone in their place! Perhaps the pawns (KKK) being used by this President to "Punish" the American people for making it possible for him to even go in the front door of the White House need to get out of the way and allow Congress to do their jobs and if there is an impasse, negotiate and get this country turned around from the brink of destruction that this President and some before him have driven us too.

The optics being created by obama's tantrums is increasingly more difficult for the leftist media to disguise. Even the bottom feeder lofo obama voters are learning of his petulance. He is classless and completely devoid of maturity. His community agitator alinsky tactics may have been useful on the streets of Chicago where his following has on average a 3rd grade education but he is currently showing his total contempt for this country, its citizens and people are taking notice. He has overreached, which is what true narcissists eventually do. He actually believes the lies his sycophant lapdog media promotes about him. Very few American citizens share his frank marshall davis view of this country.

Similarities between Obama and Hitler Both Hitler and Obama held rallies in outdoor stadiums to excite and inflame the people's passions. Frequently women would faint or break into tears. • Both Hitler and Obama wrote ghost-written autobiographies prior to the start of theri run for political office. Hitler wrote Mein Kampf (My Struggle), and Obama wrote Dreams Of My Father. Both men then wrote a second book talking about their goals for German and America. Hitler wrote A New World Order, and Obama wrote The Audacity of Hope. • Both Hitler and Obama originally had last names that were changed later in life. Hitler used to be Schickelbruber, and Obama's last name was Soetoro. • Both Hitler and Obama hid their real identies. Hiter had a Jewish ancestry, and Obama a Muslim one. But unlike Hitler, Obama flaunted his Muslim roots in his start as a politician in order to defuse the inevitable firestorm. His ploy of "hiding in plain sight" worked very well. • Both Hitler and Obama's supporters followed them blindly, and without question • Both Hitler and Obama used political power and coercion to conceal and hide their birth certificates from coming to public view. Hitler made his disappear, and Obama is unwilling and unable to produce his long-form birth certificate. • Both Hitler and Obama advocate using young people as a driving force to create an "army" of youth dedicated to their Ideals. Hitler had his Hitler Youth, and Obama his Obama Youth Brigade. • Both Hitler and Obama were known for their tremendous oratorical skills • Both Hitler and Obama received Messianic comparisons, and both men had songs of adoration written about them and for them. • Like Hitler, Obama rules in direct disregard to the will and wishes of the people. • Like Hitler, Obama has an obvious distaste for the Jews, and sides with the Muslims every chance he gets. • Both Hitler and Obama were able to mezmerize the people even when it was obvious that what they were saying was not true. • Both Hitler and Obama used domestic terrorists to launch their careers. Hitler had his Brown Shirts from his beer hall days, and Obama had people like Bill Ayers, Bernardine Dohrn, and Rashid Khalidi. • Like Hitler, Obama advocates using murder as a means of population control.

According to Linn’s Stamp News, the US Postal Service has now been forced to destroy the entire run of stamps based on Michelle Obama’s “Let’s Move” initiative. That’s because three of the stamps showed children doing unsafe activities: one showed a child jumping cannonball-style into water; a second showed a child skateboarding without kneepads; a third showed a child doing a headstand without a helmet. The President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition had not approved the stamps, but were only made aware of the problem after Nagisa Manabe, USPS marketing chief, asked Michelle Obama to take part in the ceremony inaugurating the initiative. ---- this is government stupidity.

Normally, I hate it when a some Rock & Roll Band comes along and does their own rendition of our National Anthem, but this one I really like....Give it a listen.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8C7i9kdEf8

Henry Ford paid his workers a living wage so they could buy his product. A wise man.

Phil, good news. Even though the government is shut down our new floor lamp arrived -- of course it has to be put together. I told my wife that I'm here to help. She told me to go get on the computer and not to come in the front room until she had it assembled. Phil, what does this mean?

James, it means that when you are summonsed you need to give your wife a loving hug and a tender kiss on her brilliant forehead. You are blessed.
