Heroic efforts

By From page A5 | July 15, 2013

EDITOR:

My dad, Dick Dichiara, who worked at Ponderosa, El Dorado and Union Mine high schools, passed away July 2.

We as a family wanted to thank the EDSO, Rescue and Shingle Springs fire departments for their heroic actions, especially Deputy Turnbull and Deputy Cissna. They were the first to respond. Deputy Turnbull applied a tourniquet, which he held for over 40 minutes until they could get the machinery off my dad.

My dad worked as a teacher, counselor, assistant principal and football coach in this county for more than 12 years and would want us to make sure people knew what kind of heroes we have up here. Thank you.
