Garon’s specifics

EDITOR:

Usually Mr. Garon just rants, but it’s much more entertaining when he mentions a few specifics. This is because his specifics are so poorly thought out and presented. In his last letter he refers to the Benghazi scandal as fabricated. In one sense he hit the nail on the head. The bogus storyline on Benghazi was fabricated by the administration from the beginning. That’s why there were 12 rewrites of the talking points before they had the final lie ready for the public.

As facts have come out, what happened is very easy to see. Obama was campaigning on successfully winning the battle against terrorism, killing Bin Laden and having al-Qaida on the run. Beefing up security at Benghazi or closing that outpost would have been seen by Obama’s opponents as an admission that terrorism was not as under control as he was proclaiming. So they turned down extra security for Benghazi and hoped they could get away with it as the election was only a couple of months away. Well they didn’t get away with it and four died.

Obama was notified of the attack when it was still going on at 5 p.m. Did he go to the situation room as Americans were fighting for their lives? No, he went to Vegas for a campaign event. There are four dead Americans, Mr. Garon. I don’t think the situation seemed fabricated to them.

Next, Mr. Garon mentions the IRS scandal and calls it fabricated too. That one will be a bit tough for you, Mr. Garon, since you are saying that a scandal is fabricated that the IRS itself has already apologized for. Then Mr. Garon says the Tea Party has no new ideas. Well the Tea Party’s main focus is reducing government so it can live within its means and not bury today’s grandchildren under a crushing load of debt. Considering the spending and money printing binge our government is on, the concept of living within your means would be about as new an idea as this government has ever seen.

Mr. Garon talks about the gap between the rich, middle class and poor. Lets talk about the gap between the taxpayers and the tax consumers. Almost half of the country has no problem voting for more and more government handouts because they pay no taxes. Even with the middle and upper classes paying what they do we are hundreds of billions of dollars short that must be borrowed or printed (your grandkids will love you for this). If we keep going down this road we will eventually end up with the chaos that an economic collapse brings, the kind of chaos that tends to signal the end of individual rights. If you look at the kind of wealth redistribution that left-wing zealots like Mr. Garon advocate, you will find it summed up nicely in the papers Karl Marx wrote where he basically states from each according to his ability and to each according to his need.

Unfortunately, the kind of socialism that Marx and the left espouse has an almost unbroken record of failure. Yet the left continues to feel that if it is tweaked just right it can somehow succeed despite its unbroken record of disaster.

Mr. Garon then talks about upward mobility. These days that’s a lot easier for Obama supporters than opponents. Apple is criticized for avoiding taxes, yet Obama supporter Google skates on the same issue. Well it took 40 years, but the Democrats now have somebody that makes Richard Nixon look like a piker by comparison. The economy and the government function best when the people have at least some belief in the government’s honesty and integrity. I don’t think anyone can say that they have that trust now.

Actually Colonel, it is more than the Tea/Rep position...I would think many Americans liberal and conservative have concerns about these issues. Mr. Garon is too much of an Apparatchik to see anything other than his pabulum fed point of view.

pelosi said “To some of us the role of government is about doing things for the American people to help them reach fulfillment,” Based on that standard there can be no limit on the size or responsibility of government. With 350 million individuals, everyone defining "fulfillment" differently we don't have nearly enough people working in government to help us all reach fulfillment. The only people more clueless than that dingbat are the useless carbon producers that keep re-electing her. http://www.washingtontimes.com/blog/inside-politics/2013/jun/13/pelosi-role-government-is-fulfillment/

OMG Mr.Alger please don't tell me you think Bush and Cheney were trustworthy and had integrity. If there is one thing we can all agree on it is that the George W. Bush reign will go down as the worst in the history of this country.

Dear DB...It's not about Bush anymore..But, there is a prevailing consensuses spreading around the world that the only reason your train wreck of a president has not been impeached yet is merely because he holds the distinction of being America's first Black President...I myself, find that a pretty racist excuse for not putting him out of our country's misery!!!...Any other President would be gone by now, no excuses....

R.J., surely if grounds for impeachment existed our House of Representatives would have done so as there are sufficient Tea/Republican votes. His "blackness" would not be stopping them. Could it be that while they love to talk about it, they have nothing?

James, allow me to observe that there are upper and lower limits to the "stupid party". Impeaching the first black POTUS is outside those limits. But it is interesting, Colonel, that you think otherwise. Know your enemy!

ANOTHER permutation of "low ranking staff from Cincinnati" . . . LINK - NSA admits listening to U.S. phone calls without warrants . . . keep Obama in office . . . jail his "staff" . . . loooooong time. . . . . hard time . . . .bring back large stones and sledge hammers.

Phil, truth be told, I actually don't think otherwise. It's obvious they wouldn't be so foolish -- it would kill their brand.

Phil, no one from the NSA is going to jail for listening to phone calls without a warrant. Don't you remember, they do this stuff is "keep us safe." The Patriot Act uber alles.

James, obama is protected by symbolism. He truly has no substance but anyone who follows politics knows how the left is based entirely on symbolism. That is why I suggested to you that if moochelle ran she would be not only unbeatable but also untouchable. Don't believe for an instant that the subject has not been discussed by the power brokers of the left. With hildabeast being such damaged goods the left won't risk losing the Whitehouse just because hildabeast thinks she is owed. moochelle is every bit as shallow as barry, with all the same arrogance blended with monumental incompetence, but guess what James, none of that matters to leftists. She is symbolism over substance on steroids. Think of all the money we will save not having to re-name the obamaphone.
