Illegal rural fire tax

EDITOR:

The following is the letter I submitted to the Board of Equalization with my protested tax payment.

Gentlepersons:

Enclosed is my $150 illegal tax payment. Be advised that this payment is made under extreme protest. This misnamed fee is in fact a tax and therefore illegal and in violation of the California State Constitution. The prosecution by the State Board of Equalization of this illegal tax is by its very nature extortion under color of authority. This is the latest manifestation of continuing revelations regarding gross corruption in State Government.

We the people will retrive our funds through the courts and replace the corrupt leaders of our state through the election process.

I urge all rural resedents to send their own letters of protest to the state. We are already paying taxes for fire protection to our various fire districts.

Waste of paper. the folks that open the mail don't care and anyway are under instructions to discard anything not a payment. If I were one of them, I would toss your payment just to give you grief so why risk it. It accomplishes nothing.

I strongly disagree with Bill Greenwood. People need to stand up for themselves otherwise these "fees" will continue. Here is a website I found that might help those wanting to file protests. FireTaxProtest.org There are downloadable forms with addresses of where to send the protest forms.

I didn't write a letter but I did send in the paperwork to protest this fee that is really a tax.
