Trees for the military

By From page A5 | January 02, 2013

We would like to thank the Indian Rock Ranch Christmas Tree Farm and the Placerville Rotary Club for their efforts in providing Christmas trees to our military personnel serving their country throughout the world.

Our granddaughter’s husband, HM1(FMF) Jeffrey M. Rollman, Independent Duty Corpsman, who is serving on the USS Peleliu, somewhere in the Persian Gulf, was the recipient of one of the trees. It was placed in the ship’s pharmacy and decorated by the service men and women on the ship and is providing holiday cheer to the many sailors and Marines on this ship.

The trees were provided by Indian Rock Ranch Christmas Tree Farm on North Canyon in Apple Hill through their “Trees for Troops” program and the postage was paid by the Placerville Rotary Club. I understand that other community businesses and groups also participated. It is a great program and brings a holiday joy to those who are unable to enjoy the season at home.

Thanks to the Indian Rock Christmas Tree Farm and the Placerville Rotary Club, many of our service men and women are having a brighter Christmas.
