We happily defend all our politicians, banks, celebrities, sporting events jewelry stores, factories, office buildings and courthouses all with guns, but thanks to Liberal logic our most prized possession, OUR CHILDREN, we protect with a sign that reads “GUN FREE ZONE”….Of course reasonable minded people know lunatics only see this as an invitation to shoot up schools, so when they do, who do we call???…People with a guns…I once thought Liberals were just people who thought a little different from the rest, now I see their simply a “special kind” of stupid……

It seems the NRA guys have the stance “let us meet guns with guns”… Personally, I wouldn’t like to attend a school where the police have to constantly be alert and have permission to open fire on school grounds. I think the availability of guns and ammunition in the US is certainly a contributing factor to the high rate of gun crime, perhaps the US should strengthen gun laws – I bet the heads of the NRA would be saying different if their children’s blood was being wiped from the walls of their school. It is a disgrace to all of those who have lost their lives at the hands of school gunmen that nothing has been learnt.

Too many inconsistencies to what he has said (too many to list) not to mention his numerous aliases (at least 6, Jeff, Heather, Assault Weapon, Marine, and others). He is most likely a shill as Ken says working this forum. He probably doesn’t even live here, which is why he has silently declined any opportunity to meet myself or DB face to face. If he were a real Marine, he would accept. Numerous organizations have trolls like this working various forums to try to sway public opinion. Problem with Richurd is, he’s not very good at it. I’ll extend my offer again to Richurd to meet and prove he’s a real man. Dollars to donuts, he won’t even respond.

Richard, here’s a couple for ya. I’m sure you’ve heard Colorado State Rep. Joe Salazar(D) recommendations to women that are about to be raped (or possibly killed). His representative belief is that women should not be allowed to carry and conceal because a woman really doesn’t understand what is happening during a rape and could make a mistake and shoot an innocent person. He says women can’t be trusted to make the right decision. His insightful suggestion for women that are about to be raped is to blow a whistle, run to a call box or run into a safe zone but absolutely DO NOT defend yourself with a gun. Another good one you may love Richard is that the University of Colorado wants women that are about to be raped to vomit or urinate on the attacker and if the victim has the time to talk with her attacker she needs to explain that she has a venereal disease or is menstruating. I can almost hear your little pea brain thinking that all of these sound like pretty good ideas vs. using a gun. I wondered if you were to ask your wife, daughter, niece and or granddaughter to use these types of deterrents vs. a gun what they would say?

The SIG 44 (Sturmgewehr 44, literally “storm (or assault) rifle (model of 1944″) was an assault rifle developed in Nazi Germany during World War II. The Russians took the design for the AK-47 which became the next “assault rifle.” The word meant something at the time, but has since been used for almost any rifle that has a “switch” for semi or full automatic fire. The actual weapon was a “spray and pray” kind of weapons, not very accurate, but could be effective in the hands of (usually illiterate) troops that were hastily drafted, received little marksmanship training, and sent to the front, where they were not expected to return. I had several stashed under my bunk in Vietnam, used for trading purposes (but only as something one would mount on a board.) I never fired one because of their inaccuracy, and also the odd lot would blow up in the firer’s face. Anyway the media did take the term and apply it to almost anything, but the original assault rifles were nothing that you would want to go hunting with. Hopefully this helps someone.

The limitations on freedom of speech are all after the fact. You can yell fire in a theater but will be held responsible after the fact. Same goes with libel. You are not prevented from such speech. As such, all individuals who respect others and the law are not impacted by the restrictions on speech. With respect to gun rights, the proposed bans are before the fact. Law abiding citizen’s rights are being removed prior to them committing any crimes. The fact that the overwhelming majority of gun owners do not commit crimes with guns is well documented. The speech equivalent of this would be removal of one’s tongue.

The modern liberal cares not for the case law or recent Supreme Court decisions that have recently upheld the individual right to bear arms. They also seem to forget that automatic weapons, the true “Assault Rifle” were outlawed in the 1930′s after the outlaw gangs like Bonnie and Clyde used them to rob banks. The fake liberal media creation of the modern semi-auto as the “Assault Rifle” carries ignorance and allows the sinister meaning they want to convey regardless of the fact it is false. It used to be the media drive to define and ban the “Saturday Night Special” instead of locking up the armed felon, it has really worked well in places like Chicago. As long as liberals refuse to focus on the armed felon and mentally ill as the bad actors with guns, nothing will be solved except for creating new laws that will make the law abiding citizen the target. What people need to realize is that our citizens at times will face the same criminals as our law officers and these felons are well armed. How many times have people seen a table full of guns seized from a felon and usually found in drug production in rural areas. Law officers are under no duty to proactively protect anyone they are after the fact reactive and have a response time that varies close to 30 minutes or more in many rural areas. Disarming the law abiding is as wrong a focus as suggesting the same for local law enforcement who face the same criminal element.
