Inspiring obituary

By From page A5 | December 11, 2013

There was an obituary for Walter Todd Pine — Aug. 25, 1923-Oct. 25, 2013 — in the Nov. 1 Mountain Democrat. I did not know him but sure do wish I could have. His neighbor, Denise Long, wrote a letter to honor his memory and thank him for what he taught her while they were neighbors. Those are words to live by in my book.

What a lovely tribute Denise wrote about such a wonderful man. Walter, you have inspired me even from the grave.

Rest in peace sweet soul, your obituary is on my fridge. Even us that didn’t actually “know” you are keeping your memory alive.

Thank you, Denise Long, for your beautiful tribute to Walter Todd Pine.
