I just want to warn other people out there that the IRS telephone scam is still going on, as I just received a phone call from “Daniel Rich, IRS Legal Affairs, in Visalia.”
He stated that he was going to have a warrant issued for my arrest for unpaid 2008 taxes, and didn’t I get Notice CP503 in the mail?
No, I didn’t, because we got a refund from both the federal and the state that year, so I knew immediately it was a scam. However, my warning is this: He sounds very authoritative, and even knowing it could not be true, it shook me up.
If this happens to you, call Special Agent Mark Tucker at 916-974-5776 (a real Internal Revenue Service man) to report it. Thank you.
