Killing a business

EDITOR:

Tom McClintock, you should be ashamed of yourself. You were elected to take care of your constituents. Yet when you voted with the rest of the Republicans to close down our government for two weeks, you did not take care of a particular constituent.

Pamela Harris of Groveland has been forced to close her business (The Pine Mountain Deli and Ice Cream Emporium). Just as her business was starting to pick up again after the Rim Fire drove visitors away, the U.S. Congress closed down our government. This in turn closed Yosemite National Park, which again kept the tourists away from Groveland. Pamela was not able to earn enough income to pay her bills. Yet you not only supported the government closure, you continued to be paid.

It seems to me that you should consider giving those two weeks of unearned pay to Pamela to help her recover from her loss.

You really meant to blame Ali-Bummer, the same lying talking head who's failures and incompetence are on full display and who said to the people as a bald-faced lie, "You can keep your health plan and doctor if you like them and it will be 2500 cheaper per year." Remember that guy? Same guy who after not passing a budget in five years and pretending to govern with CR'S as short term contentious spending battles, which is not governing, it is anarchy, as all functioning Presidents have passed budgets routinely and without a budget it causes the govt. shutdowns and they will likely continue and many things seldom seen before are going to be seen, his purposeful shut downs, not allowing states to take over park and tourist operations as done before, and closing many private businesses never before closed on govt. leased land was an example of more to come from the angry tyrant usually found on the golf course who deserves the entire blame.

Sometimes it is better to remain silent and let others just assume your an idiot rather than open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I'm with you Richard.........all of the Repugs who voted to shut down the government should be run out of office. Hey look at it this way.... McClintock submitted a Bill to raise the dam on the Merced River with the specific language that says the EXTRA water goes to WESTLANDS of SJV..... Merced community doesn't get a drop of the extra water if the bill goes through.......... Just the Water Barons of SJV...... Westlands LOVES McClintock.... I bet you $5 McClintock will make sure WESTLANDS farmers will KEEP their Farm subsidies + Water subsidies..... but stop those ruthless poor people from food stamps..... LET them starve...

Rep. McClintock, I again want to thank you and the rest of the Representatives who are trying to assist us from the Obamamcare failure and the pending bankruptcy of our Country. It is a difficult job when the very people you are trying to protect fight you every step of the way. Just a reminder, those of us who appreciate your honesty and determination are supporting your re-election. Thank you again.

And just HOW has Obamacare hurt YOU Dee?..... My son was one of those 'canceled'..... and yes he has to pay $200 a month instead of $150...... But with his old plan--It didn't pay for his doctor appointments--new one does.....Old one didn't co-pay prescriptions--new one does...... Old one didn't pay for blood work--new one does..... NO ONE..... I repeat (and I know you won't hear) NO ONE is paying more that 0.01% of their paycheck..... But I know INFOWARS.... has a different spin.......... ONE MORE question: WHY ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR INSURANCE COMPANIES? Do you trust them? They haven't been honest in 20-years.... Why are they Honest now?

Mr Kerr. I am confused by your comment. You are angry with Tom McClintock for 1 business closure. Oh my goodness - with the Obama administration being responsible for the worst devestation to American business's and jobs in American history - you have got to be kidding me. President Obama has taken Jimmy Carters legacy of the worst president in American history. The democratic voters of the last 5 years will go down in history as the ultimate failure to our children and grandchildren. I am thankful to Tom McClintock and I will continue to vote for him as long as he works for us, the American People.

Wow. Really Elaine? The President is handed a country of the brink of total economic collapse and you expect we should all just be swimming in mountains of excess employment opportunities and cash? Give me a freakin break. While President Obama may indeed have a few issues in which one could find fault, I, for one, am amazed that we have come through the last few years in as healthy a condition as we have. It could - and likely should - have been much much worse. Expecting President Obama to instantly (or even in several years) turn this country around into a Corvette again after being handed a 1972 Dodge Dart running on four bald tires, no spare and a distinct lifter knock of serious concern is just plain dumb. The high-water mark of ignorance however is in ignoring just whose watch it was upon that this mess came to fruition within.

Actually Phil, yes. The beauty is in its simplicity: America Boycotts Wal-Mart. We hold WM hostage until they release Smiley Face; The Made in USA Orb of Economic Success. Remember him?? Anyone?? How quietly Wal-Mart had that lil fella bumped off after years of pimpin him like Mickey Rooney on a Colonial Penn Insurance John. (The years where he looked at the camera and drooled while his wife operated the levers concealed in his back) So how do we remake ourselves into the worlds greatest nation again? We look to history: Picture it. Levittown, 1947. Most of Europe and Asia bombed into rubble. America isn't. America builds stuff. People want stuff. America sells stuff. Everyone gets a new Buick. Done.

Government overreach and power hungry officials kill businesses everyday.------example----The company has 17 trucks and 30 employees. 2 of the trucks apparently had a defective tire on them when inspected and the federal government cited the company and sent a letter demanding a “Plan of Corrective Action.” The letter was sent by regular mail, and was not received. Getting no response from the business owner the Feds shut down the company. The letter wasn’t even certified. Given that a company and livelihoods were at stake this seems the absolute minimum the government should have to do. This is putting aside the fact that somehow the federal government has the leagal authority to just close up a company because of 2 defective tires. Do you think that a larger company, one with connections at the statehouse or Washington DC would ever have these kinds of problems. Would a company who’s executives bundled money to the right politicians have to deal with such troubles? The simple answer is, no.--------because of this shut down the company lost their Insurance. Between trying to make payroll, loss of business, lawyer fees and customers , they may never be able to re-open. Another company dies because of government action.

The burden forced on the private sector to fund the out of control public sector is what is killing business. http://www.news10.net/news/article/262548/2/255-per-second-Crisis-in-Californias-teacher-pension-system

The final nail in this coffin? FEMA just announced no relief loans. Bummer not only ordered the shut-down because he wanted Bummer Care unleashed, he now refused any assistance through FEMA. Who's killing business after business?

Frank, Bummer didn't close down the government. The Congress did when they failed to pass the CR to fund the government. Don't you remember how proud the Tea Party was that they could close down the government? A little selective memory Frank?

Keep fighting Ted these idiots believe anything that the savior of our planet says. I am sure glad that Obama-care has continued because it will show them how it took our nation from a free nation to a supervised cattle ranch; each and every one of us will have our own little stall and fed what they think is best for us. Can’t wait to see how many young folks lose their homes because they can no longer afford the mortgage, the left don’t understand that $200 less per month means the difference between eating and paying a house payment or the rent. Some it won’t make any difference because they are on food stamps or other subsidies, the rest of us will pay for that. For the unfortunate many will have to poke a few more holes in their belt to survive. Sure glad that I am coming to the end of the road because this government is scaring the Obamas out of me.

Here is another part of what is killing business. The money for this doesn't grow on trees. It has to be earned before the left can confiscate it to buy votes with. And business has to earn it. http://www.kcra.com/news/local-news/news-sacramento/ap-state-workers-get-516m-in-bonus-pay/-/12969376/22875106/-/86ob23z/-/index.html
